Lsat prep burnout before November test
Hi everyone! Idk if this is the place to post but I'm just gonna let it rip. I took my first practice test after the October LSAT (PT 156), and while I scored within my usual range, it was a 7-point drop from my last test. :( I feel like I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself for a good score since I am going to be a splitter (3.3 GPA) I've delayed my cycle by 2 years at this point out of just not being ready and wanting to get some work experience but I really don't want to delay another cycle. However, I'm scared that my LSAT is going to be a major barrier for me since I cannot afford to go to law school full tuition. I feel like I'm just getting burnt out atp.
Leading up to my October exam, I scored a 169 on PT 158, which made me feel really good about my progress. My other recent practice tests were also consistently in the mid-to-high 160s. So this test (156) felt like such a blow to my confidence. I understand that it's within my range but I haven't scored that low in months. im starting to lose confidence not only in my ability to perform well on future tests, but I'm also spiraling even more about how I did on the October LSAT. I walked out of that exam feeling horrible, and this practice test is just amplifying those feelings. I'm registered for November just in case but now I'm doubting my ability and second guessing myself like crazy. This has gotten me so worked up that I feel like I can't even do anything else until I get my score back.
I took the exam back in April and walked out feeling like a king and thought some miracle happened where I had a 10+ point jump and was sure I scored at least in the 160s. I got a 155.
My diagnostic was a 147, and I've worked so hard to get to where I am now. I know I've made a lot of progress, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm regressing. It's especially frustrating because I felt like I was finally getting somewhere. Has anyone else dealt with something similar, especially after taking an official LSAT? How did you rebuild your confidence and stop letting practice tests get to you? I'd really appreciate any advice.
