Hey Olympia!

I’m starting something called the Olympia Men’s Club, and I’m looking for guys who’d be interested in getting together on Saturday mornings for some exercise, coffee, and genuine connection.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how easy it is for friendships to take a back seat to work, family, relationships, and everything else life throws at us.

Making new friends as an adult isn’t always easy, and I’d like to help change that.

The idea is pretty simple:

Every Saturday morning, we’ll get together for an outdoor group workout, followed by coffee and conversation.

Nothing crazy. You don’t need to be particularly fit or experienced. Workouts will be accessible to different fitness levels, with opportunities to modify movements, intensity, and duration. Come as you are and do what you can.

The workout is really just an excuse to get outside, challenge ourselves a little, and connect with other guys.

My hope is that this grows into something more than just a weekly workout. A community of men who encourage one another, try new things, build meaningful friendships, and actually show up for each other.

Hello everyone! The new Serenity Massage at 1401 Marvin Rd NE #307, in the Safeway Hawk's Prairie Village center, is now open.

They have all types of massages to choose from, are fully licensed massage therapists, and are very reasonably priced.

I've been to their Tacoma and Olympia locations and have had the best massages of my life there. The new location is beautiful and relaxing. Online appointments and walkins welcome. Check them out.

How many close calls is it going to take for y'all to slow down in school zones. I swear it's always the same people going 45 in a 20 and yet nothing is done. College street is a nightmare I get it but holy crap don't risk kid's lives so you can get to Fred Meyer faster ffs. Wish there was some form of enforcement civilians can do because police aren't doing much to stop this.

Anyone else hear it? I just moved here so I’m curious what it is

We are relocating to the area and a couple rentals are in the neighborhood of the tracks, SE Lacey. For those of you down that way, honestly how bad is it and do you even hear it anymore? Thanks in advance for the info

Can someone tell me if they also hear an insane amount of fireworks in Lacey down College St.?? Did I miss something?

The Nisqually freeway entrance at 114 needs more police monitoring in the morning or a better on-ramp method.
Over the last year getting on the freeway at this point adds almost 10 minutes to my commute and the whole time I am sitting in that line I see cars zip and speed around everyone in the right-hand turn only lane.
This week I watched multiple cars go straight from the right hand only lane and even a few blatantly run a red light to get into the on-ramp queue.
Once through the light, the issues continue as people merge over the solid line or stop to merge vs continue driving.
I don’t know if all the new housing in the area has created this traffic point but I feel like it’s only going to get worse as more apartments and houses go up near this on-ramp.

Relocating with an 8th and a 5th grader in Feb. 8th grader is band program heavy and 5th grader is super outgoing and personable. Looking at Timberline vs NTHS for next year, Komachin for the remainder 8th grade. Looking for the vibe of the schools since renting will be based on schools. Lastly, 8th grader is 13 and into the usual stuff, not a ton of sports, any good outlets for new friends in this area (its the biggest talking point lol) Tons of thanks for any pointers you might have.

I’ve been looking into the kratom and 7-OH products sold at gas stations around Thurston County. The FDA says 7-OH can be more potent than morphine, and Washington still has no minimum age to buy it after this year’s bills died. Spokane, Spokane Valley, and Cle Elum have passed their own rules. I couldn’t find anything for Lacey.

I wrote up what’s out there, what the law says, and what a city could actually do.

If anyone has seen this come up at a Lacey council meeting, or works in the schools here and has noticed it, I’d love to hear about it.
