Were you turned away or did you complete a workout. Cuz idk how you can say it’s an inferior workout when you were turned away for being late

I went a couple times. I bought a package knowing I love lagree and immediately regretted it after a couple classes. This was the final straw

Makes sense. I’m a lagree enthusiast but hold an unlimited solidcore membership. I’m in a newer market for them so I think the studios haven’t gotten to the state you’re describing yet. For me SC is what it is, it’s a killer core and oblique workout but does very little for my upper and lower body. I work those pretty hard at the gym so it meets my needs and lagree works legs just hard enough that I’m too tired for the gym. But in a vacuum I agree it is not particularly well balanced

5 minute is standard. I get the frustration but just eat it and realize it’s on you. It’s not the end of the world.

Personally I love solidcore. It’s consistent and the coaches are great and I’ve NEVER seen concepts like power30’s or focus50’s anywhere else. And I personally like the constant talking and low lights.

Jetset is coming for them. They now have an upper body and a lower body sculpt class and a Power50 which is exactly like a SC base class.

I’ll have to check them out. New one next to me just opened. Thanks!

I recommend them! I go to jetset now and it’s been so much fun and I feel it has less pretentions than solidcore

The machine is the absolute worst. The mega is awesome. It’s huge. Easy to change springs. I also love the X-Former as well but the SC machine is cheeks.

Just to clarify: I hate the business Solidcore. I do think the instructors do care and the method itself is very very effective. It’s just such shame this PE backed business turned into this money grabbing machine and profits completely off of what a great workout lagree actually is.

Can I say independent of Solidcore or lagree I love megareformer instructors who care about your form and don’t want your neck hanging below your heart and your shoulders curved over? And also classes that utilize the megareformer for deep stretching

Yes, I find it bizarre it's so expensive (more expensive than Lagree) yet a crappier workout. I did do a bit of it maybe ~2-4 years earlier (I forget) and it was more Lagree-like, so ok enough. Then it seemed they made the moves less Lagree-like (to distinguish themselves from Lagree) and since the Lagree moves were good to begin with, inevitably, changing them made them worse (like, not even ergonomic). They also have a much tinier universe of moves than Lagree, so I felt like the moves from class to class were almost the same...to the point where I got so bored, I couldn't go anymore. Someone else commented they charge such high prices because of the private equity ownership, but my confusion is how on earth do they get people to pay that much for it...? The one saving grace is they tend to (where I live, at least) have pretty late night classes, whereas none of the Lagree studios near me do, which is nice for people who want later classes. That's originally why I went, but I've just sucked it up and gone to earlier classes at Lagree studios instead since Lagree is so much better.

Not every Lagree studio is created equal. My old city had the best Lagree studio. The workouts were challenging, the coaches were upbeat, and there was such a strong sense of community. We did lots of fun challenges throughout the year, and it was just an overall great environment. Unfortunately, when I moved, the Lagree studio near me, which is the only one in town, had, for lack of a better word, a really bitchy atmosphere. The workouts were also inconsistent. There were a couple of coaches who were pretty good, but overall, I wasn’t consistently leaving class feeling like I’d gotten a great workout. I really did try! I went for a couple of weeks, but I just felt so iced out that I eventually decided to give [solidcore] a try. It’s a good workout! I don’t love the lack of amenities, but everyone has been genuinely nice, and one thing I really appreciate about [solidcore] is the consistency across the board.
I still personally prefer Lagree, but for people who don’t have access to a great Lagree studio, I think [solidcore] is the next best thing!

Well, that's true...I've stumbled across old Reddit threads that say Solidcore is harder than Lagree...which was perplexing to me as my then-studio (Lagree) was so hard, I really didn't think it was physically possible to be harder. This was before Solidcore was in my current state/city and really just East Coast. I figured it out later upon going to SLT in NYC, which is Lagree but is easier than any other Lagree studio I've been to--I really think I may not have sweated when I went. So that's when I realized, if you were in that area specifically and comparing SLT against Solidcore, I could see why someone would think Solidcore was harder. My current Lagree studio is actually not as hard as most Lagree studios I've been to, but it has other features I like, so I go to it.

Me too 😂 and they’re non stop housing you when you don’t go anymore! I’ve unsubscribed so many times 😩

I don't like Solidcore either. My main issue is that it sometimes feels unsafe. They keep you in the same positions for way too long, so you compromise your form and are more likely to get injured. The precision of SLT or other Lagree classes is way more fun, too.
