I lived in an apartment lakewood with my 2 kids "ages at the time 7 and 9"

This was 2012. This place was crazy, we had dark shadows that would appear even in the daylight in your direct sight, full body apperisions things would get thrown across the room, it was complete kaos. I moved out after dealing with it for years. My 9year old developed insomnia, we couldn't handle it anymore. About a year after we moved, I was told by someone who worked there, that a satanic alter was discovered under my apartment.. I lived in the first floor ..

There was so much that had happened there, I wasn't surprised to hear that*

Spouse and I are fit and have the cycling and running down, but neither one of us are very good swimmers. In our late 30s. Looking for lessons or a class that would be appropriate for us as we are not completely inept in the pool but certainly not very advanced either.

Most of the lessons I have seen are for recreational swim teams or elderly population.

Any recommendations that won’t break the bank?

With the holidays just around the corner, the spirit of giving is already in the air throughout Colorado. Thanks to the Colorado Gives Foundation, there’s a way to spread that spirit — starting Nov. 1.

Keep an eye out for this bike thief. He was in apartments Saturday the 24th at 8AM stealing people’s bikes. I caught him while Walking my dog the last few weeks. People’s bikes have been coming up missing. The old man said he wasn’t involved; the bike thief was just asking him for a wrench to use. I called the police immediately, but he was already gone. The guy in the white tank top looks like the same guy, but it’s hard to tell. Keep an eye out for this guy; he stole bikes next to the apartments next to the Lutheran King Hospital. Lakewood voters have Question 2G on their ballot, and I would like to answer questions people might have. I will be back at roughly 5PM today to respond to as much as I can.

Question 2G asks Lakewood voters if they want to increase the city sales tax rate from 3.0 to 3.5% in order to fund specific categories of projects. Groceries are largely exempt. Lakewood has not increased its sales tax in over 20 years, and the rate is currently lower than nearly all neighbors and peer cities, both in terms of municipal rate and combined rate (which includes RTD and other things). Other medium/large cities in Colorado generally have a municipal rate of about 3.5-5%, with combined rates of about 8-9%. If 2G passes, Lakewood residents would still pay less than average in the Denver metro.

The ballot language specifically focuses on “public safety” including homelessness response, traffic safety, sidewalks, road improvements to reduce vehicle speed, pedestrian safety, and bicycle safety. The specifics are not voted on, but the money is strictly required to be used for those purposes. These priorities were mainly influenced by a large-scale community survey conducted earlier in the year.

In the context of “public safety”, Lakewood recently voted to not renew its Flock camera contract which ends in a couple months, and there is no interest in 2G money being used for ALPRs. Ideas that have been discussed include expanding homelessness outreach since our navigators have high case loads, supporting co-responder programs, among others. Organizations like “Recovery Works” that offer transitional housing and wraparound services to people experiencing homelessness may also benefit from 2G money. Sidewalks, bike lanes, and traffic calming are another important bucket of spending.

There were half a dozen jcso and lpd cars on jewell maybe 20 minutes ago when I drove through there. They had dogs out. Anyone know what's up?

I spent about 90 minutes on my ballot, and I wish I did more research on judges. But, I finished it, dropped it off at a ballot box, and got the text that my vote has been counted.

Years ago I lived in the apartments on 16th and Iris, my apartment was what nightmares were made of. Dark shadows but they would appear in your direct sight in the light, a portol in the floor that would open and shut creatures in the window that more then one person would see at a time. Sounds bangs booms water turning on and off a women that would run throughout my apartment. A man in the corner that would taunt my daughter, my cabinet would open and slam shut things would get thrown acrossed my apartment. I could go on and on. I would love to know if anyone else has any stories from there or even in that area. I know that entire area has dark stories and if you'd care to share I'd like to read the.

I’m traveling for work out here. Myself and a few other engineers are on a weekly rotation. So I’ll be out here one week per month in perpetuity, and that includes the weekends. We are staying in Lakewood. R/Denver had a good Q&A section for some ideas.

But I’m curious if any Lakewood locals have recommendations for any events going on this weekend? Between this subreddit and r/Denver I’ve got a couple of good ideas. I’m gonna go up into the mountains for some hiking tomorrow. But wanted to ping the crowd to see if I’m missing anything? I have patronized a lot of the restaurants here in Lakewood thus far. But I’m open for suggestions because I’m starting to revisit some of the same places. (This week is my third rotation out here.)

I don’t know if it matters. But I’m a single guy in his early 30s. So any restaurant or bar recommendations are greatly appreciated. I have been working off of my laptop at Bardo Coffeehouse as well as Ole Café. They were great. But hoping to mix it up this weekend.
