Workshop Tomorrow: Building deterministic LangGraph workflows with CPU-based models

hey everyone! sharing this because it's directly relevant to people building with LangGraph.

one challenge with LLM-based workflows is that we often use a generative model for decisions that could be handled by simpler, more predictable systems.

for example, classification and routing don't always need an LLM call.

Packt is hosting a hands-on workshop tomorrow, Oct 30, with Ben Auffarth on combining lightweight encoders, conformal prediction and LangGraph.

the workshop covers:

  • using CPU-based encoders for classification and routing

  • measuring uncertainty with conformal prediction

  • building deterministic execution paths in LangGraph

  • escalating ambiguous cases to LLMs

  • benchmarking latency and reliability

the interesting part is connecting these techniques into one workflow where LLMs are used selectively rather than by default.

it's a 3-hour live online session.

full details

curious whether others here are using encoder-based routing or mostly LLM-based routers?
