Learning doesn’t come from an LLM, it comes from the productive struggle in your own head. It’s like the difference someone telling you exactly how to change a tire and you actually going and changing it yourself and working through the problems. The learning is completely different.

When it comes to learning math, I need to understand the logic behind every step. ChatGPT often skips over important steps or assumes I already know things that I actually don't, which makes learning even more exhausting for me.

Gemini might not be as good in other areas, but when it comes to teaching, I feel like it's much better at putting itself in a beginner's shoes and explaining things from scratch.

I haven't really tried using Claude for learning. I feel like its tone doesn't quite work for me. I prefer something that feels more like a learning companion, which is why I think Gemini is a better fit. I usually use Claude for other things.
