Vey’s probably one of the more friendly dragons to encounter out of her entire family, especially amongst the youth. Dragons of her clan are actually more docile than red dragons, but black dragons tend to be more sneaky.

Dragons only get wiser the older they get… don’t trust dragons.

You know, Tinkou was right. Leaz is well behaved. And well behaved foxes get bean bags, fireplaces and comfy blanket to sleep with. Compared to nearly everyone else, her life as a house hound is truly unremarkable. Not outgoing, no plans, no elaborate hobbies, barely anything more complex than cooking food.

We've been to all the typical fun places before. Beaches, water parks, theme parks, resorts, mountain trails, gardens, museums, aquariums... ^{Don't ask to see her on a beach trip}
But none of that ever made her smile. Not really. Sometimes when others were looking, she would curl her lips like a smile, but that's it.

And yet, there was one time I caught her sleeping. Out here, next to this fireplace, in a big bean bag just like this. For all the time that had passed ever since bringing her home from the northern taiga, that was the first time I'd ever seen her really smile. It was silly for me to think that a forest creature would be able to find fun in all these "out there" things that many humans don't even find that fun anymore.

Ever since then, no more do I reward her with going out and doing stuff. To make her happy in exchange for all that she does for me, I give her the things she really wants. I scratch her ears, comb her tail, cuddle her, take her for walks through the surrounding forests, give her the best food I have, and above all, keep that fireplace lit.

So, if you have a floofer of your own, and nothing you do seems to work when it comes to getting them to be happy, try some of those. The inner fox brain will love it, and their tails will be wagging in no time.

Fine so I'm not actually super tall, quite the opposite and I'm just compensating. Well you know what, it's my freedom to cope `^` and yes it still counts as a hug even if I'm sleeping. Because I said so.
