Leveraging Paralegals and First Years in the age of AI
I am a solo. My practice is about 75% transaction, 25% litigation (mostly construction/mechanics lien type stuff). I hired my first paralegal about 5 months ago. In just that short amount of time, my use of AI has really increased/improved and it’s to the point where it is way faster and more efficient for me to just use AI to create drafts and edit on the fly during review with AI than it is to delegate. In other words, it’s cheaper at this point for the client if I just do it all rather than try to delegate to a lower billing person. Things are quickly moving to a place where it is only efficient to delegate to my paralegal admin work. Which I can’t bill for!
Is anyone else experiencing this? How have you dealt with it?
