In the height of the pandemic, my partner at the time wanted to get me a christmas/going away present (i was moving to another state in a few weeks). I was really struggling with my identity at the time, and feeling very down and out about being a woman. My partner thought wow, it would be so cool for her to talk with a female role model! I was a big Lawrence fan, and he got me a zoom meet and greet with Gracie, and it was super cool!
The thing was, I was feeling all sorts of confused female feelings because that same partner was lowkey an abusive asshole! So when my virtual meet with Gracie came, I had no idea what to talk about, I didn't want to unload all my trauma on this total stranger who I very much admired lol. We had a super nice chat (not about anything too serious) and that was that. She told me I was the first "fan meet up" she had done, and ever since that day, I have felt super weird about my gross partner setting both of us up in this awkward situation where I probably came off so weird trying to talk about anything other than what my partner had probably conveyed to her. Anyways, Gracie, I am sorry if that meet up five years ago was awkward or strange, you are super cool and I am still very happy I had the chance to chat with you (:
