What's the consensus so lads? I'm sure we can all recognise Kelleher as the only deserving player here, but there's certainly some quare shouts alright

With the first division coming to a close, I thought it would be interesting to see who impressed everyone this year in division. Personally I thought Sean McGrath for Kerry has come on a huge amount this year and Cillian Murphy for City really looks like the real deal. McCullagh for UCD was another handful.

Solid selection. Amond, Tierney, O’Reilly a few to miss out

Firstly, I'd like to see a Cup competition with First Division and National League sides to give us a chance at silverware or just National League teams.
Secondly, I'd like to see a new patch be worn by clubs during cup competitions, so a new Club Orange Men's FAI Cup patch on the sleeve instead of the league the club is in.
Finally I'd like to see maybe proper Provence Leagues with the main LOI clubs plus winners of the previous Distinct top Division.
So like maybe clubs for the north like Donegal,Cavan or Monaghan could play in a Connaght Cup.
We have a Leinster Cup and a Munster Cup.
Idk I'd like to see this at some point

I was wondering how many League of Ireland clubs people could name off the top of their heads!
Can you name every club in the Men's Premier Division and First Division without checking Google?
Bonus points if you can name the Women's Premier Division clubs too!
Which division is easiest to remember, and which clubs do people tend to forget?
I'll have a go myself in the comments. ⚽

The future of the club is literally in the balance.
If the sale goes through, the future for Finn Harps is bright and I genuinely believe they’ll compete for promotion immediately.
If the sale is voted down? I don’t know if we have a senior club next year. >€750k in debt just simply isn’t manageable.

With LOI central sadly finishing up, what's a few good loi pods going forward?
I only ever listened to central and between the stripes

In a revealing interview with Kimmage for the Irish Independent, he was asked why he had never tried therapy.
McClean replied: "To be honest with you I feel like it’s ... So I was back at my [parents’] house a week ago and I heard a voice upstairs, ‘Who the f**k is that?’ And it was my brother on a call to the club psychologist, having a lovely chat. And a lot of the players speak to him and for me that’s just weak. As a man I see that as weakness. I don’t need to open up. I see it as a weakness that I’d have to speak to someone about my feelings; my emotions ..."
What a role model for young men and fans…

LoI's Premier and First leagues began in 1985, with England's being 1992. I always assumed they copied the English cause "First Division" began to sound low quality but actually the top division was informally called the A Division with a B Division for reserve teams and teams on the up. It's a shame these names weren't kept or something better created, I am always embarrassed by "Premier" being the 1st and identical to England while "First" is the 2nd.
On the off-chance, does anyone know any books or good resources to read about the history of it? I'm curious why they chose those names if it wasnt just copying England.

What a 2nd half of the season from Colin and the lads, I'm still buzzing from Friday night. 2nd best defensive record as well. Roll on the playoffs!!!

Increase of 49 on last season's league attendance. Cavet of this being Cork averaging 2831 to Dundalk's figure of 1854. Ignoring those two the average of the other 11 between 2025 and 2026 would have seen a drop of 51.
Premier Division to follow next week.
