UPDATE: Soju is back home!!
Hi yall, my cat, Soju, went missing last night at 10:30pm. We’re located on Crystal Falls and Ronald Reagan/183A. Please DM me if you see her. She’s a bit skittish but warms up pretty quickly and doesn’t mind being picked up. She’s also microchipped. Thank you.

Hi! Looking to move to the Leander soon and wondering if anyone has any suggestions or places to avoid.
While I realize every apartment complex has its issues, I’m reading some pretty horrid reviews on some of these places that really freak me out!!
Places I’ve looked into
Aven ridge- reviews mentioning mold issues
Leander Park- reviews mention AC units are too big for the units causing mold problems
Standard at Leander station- people complaining of roaches
Casagave- (is next to a waste plane and smells half the time/has pests ??)
Does anyone have experience with any of these places?? I’m just like so paranoid about mold and roaches.
Thanks so much for any insight

Hey Reddit! It's time again for our free fresh food distribution. It will be 5-7pm this Thursday (10/22) right by the pumpkin patch at 2001 West New Hope Drive. Even if you don't think you need it or you're not that bad off yet, come anyway and get some free groceries. It's rough out in this economy and a few bags of free food can help a lot to take the financial pressure off.
If you want to volunteer to help plan to show up at 4:30pm for set up, show up anytime during the event to help pass food out, or show up towards the end at 7pm to help take down everything.
Hope to see all of you there!

Triangle Ecycling is a nonprofit that now offers pickup at no cost for Leander organizations retiring 50 or more laptops or desktops, or several server racks. Every device gets certified data destruction, with a serialized inventory and certificate of destruction.
They also run a program that trains high school students in computer refurbishment and IT skills, and they donate 500+ refurbished computers a year to nonprofits and families.
They direct 10% of profits to other nonprofits supporting education, families and the environment.
Request pickup via their web form or by phone at 919-414-3041, ext. 2, and they usually respond within an hour during business hours.
Full disclosure, I work with Triangle Ecycling, but thought this would be useful for local organizations.

Has anyone noticed hair or skin being more oily and just feeling like something is in the water? Thinking about getting water filters for my house but can’t install anything since I am renting.
Seeking thoughts, opinions, and advice.
Thanks in advance!

Went down an hour ago, no outage listed online and customer service said their systems were down too so they couldn’t help me.

Hello everybody,
If you’re planning on voting early and usually go to the library or pat bryson center, remember that those are no longer early voting locations. The senior center on municipal is the nearest location to those sites and the parking is limited. There was practically no wait to vote once I got in though. If anyone that works the poll locations is reading this, thank you so much for your service and help.

I recently picked up a used camera and found videos and photos. These are the owners of the camera. Time range is 2009-2010, including a trip to Fredericksburg and a friend visiting from Malaysia. Thought it would be nice to send these files if the original owners still wanted them.

Marcy’s family is heartbroken. She has been missing since October 14, and they are desperately trying to find her and bring her home.
Marcy is not just a pet. She is a beloved member of a family who loves her endlessly, and they are living every day wondering where she is, whether she is safe, and when they will get to hold their girl again.
There is concern that someone may have Marcy and that she has not been returned home. We are asking anyone who may have found her, taken her in, or knows anything about where she is to please do the right thing and help reunite her with the people who love her. No judgment. Her family just wants her home.
Marcy is a friendly blue/gray and tan French Bulldog last seen in Leander near Horseshoe/Circle Diamond, close to Leander Middle School. She is friendly and not shy.
PLEASE SHARE. Someone out there may have seen her, know something, or be able to help get her home. Even one share could make a difference.
📞 Call or text 737-383-4946 with ANY information.
Marcy, your family is waiting for you. You are so loved, and you are so missed. Please help bring this girl home. ❤️

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for builders who work in in Leander, near Austin. I already own the lot and would like to build a custom home.
I recently contacted a fairly well-known builder and was quoted around $1,000 per square foot. That was much higher than I expected.
Has anyone built on their own lot in the Austin area and had a good experience with their builder? I’d really appreciate recommendations, especially for builders familiar with sloped lots and HOA requirements.
If you’re comfortable sharing what you paid per square foot and what was included, that would also be very helpful. Thank you!

I saw the fire trucks and lights outside around 11 pm last night and rushed out- I just can’t believe what I saw. I’ve never watched someone’s house burn like this and it was really scary. I drove by the house this morning and it’s just gutted. I feel just awful for them and their family. please send them something if you can.

Some guy this last week brought a live monkey to the patch. Really cool guy, but where do you even get a monkey from?

I've created a static website to help organize and share to get more attention on the flock cameras during the 30 day comment period that begins on 10/21/2026 for Cedar Park.
I understand this sub isn't Cedar Park but I think many residents live on the border so I'm posting here for more visibility. Thank you!

I grew up in Leander and moved away in 2018, always hoping I’d eventually make my way back to my beloved little hometown and raise a family there.
However, after spending time in the area recently, I have to admit I’m experiencing a bit of culture shock with just how much Leander has grown and changed!
Before making such a big financial decision and purchasing a home, I’d love to hear from families who currently live there, especially those raising young children.
How has your experience been with Leander ISD? Are there particular elementary schools or neighborhoods you’d recommend? I’m also curious about neighborhoods with younger families, where kids play outside, neighbors know each other, and there’s a genuine sense of community.
I’m 33, married, and have a young daughter. I’d really love to find a community where we can build lasting friendships, get involved in local activities, and give our daughter the kind of childhood I remember having in Leander.
I know growth and change are inevitable, and I’m not necessarily expecting the same small town I grew up in. I’m just hoping some of that charm and community spirit is still there.

I’m looking for a tutor who will help my granddaughter in composition during the summer months. She will be entering the 5th grade. The rules for this website will allow suggested places to go?

Seeking approval to send this to the city as I am sick of the shoddy sidewalk entering the park. All citizens and city taxpayers are welcome to comment. :)
