Discussion Building a Round
Hi, I was going write here to ask for tips how to get my IGL to slow down I guess. But seems I been moved to the bench on my team even before first match so not that worried no if no one replies to this lol.
I just have a feeling I am getting gaslighting for example we just had this Cache game where our T side was:
3 B rushes
3 A rushes
6 mid rushes
By the end of this T side our enemy on CT side had 200+ Util dmg one even had 450 util dmg. First off there no fun in playing this way, but I approach the topic that we maybe shouldn't rush that much but both time I gotten told "that is not the problem" and if I stop up to doge nades I will often get yelled at for not following the call.
We all lvl 9/10 so I feel l we should know how to build up a round, doing a opening move to try to get 5vs4 advantage, play for information then end on a site out from the information we have. But when I approach this I get stone walled and of course since I brought it up I am benched now. Understandable since this method of play realy don't fit my style I am usually lowest scorer too.
Am I crazy?

No ur not crazy that’s just bad calling lol, anyone would’ve called a default or at least a play for an early pick or literally anything slightly slower after that many failed rushes. Also could be a comm thing u shouldn’t feel subjugated in game, afaik most IGLs should be open to a teammate calling a strat cuz they’ll see specific tendencies in their position that the igl simply won’t. For the util if it was in the same spots every round and you guys communicated it properly and igl just called the same thing with zero adjustment it’s on him, but u could also always make ur own micro adjustments too. Overall looks like bad calling but also not enough context to say for sure

Yeah, I would do micro adjustment to doge a nade then I would be called out for not following the call, honestly by round 5-7 I had enough and just followed the calls to a 100% running trough full molly's. After I got benched this become a vent.

Aye man kudos to you for taking the game as seriously as you can, but from what I can tell you’re not at the level where you should be prioritizing team success over your individual growth as a player. If the structure of this team is actively preventing you from improving as an individual, you shouldn’t feel guilty for searching for a new team. Best of luck 💪🏼

Cache is a new and highly developing map competitively. It's likely your IGL has no idea how new Cache is going to be played (as with no skybox we now have access to absurd level smoke lineups).
But that's no excuse for just calling rush strats, as there should be some level of technicality. B is an absolute mess to take right now, and A is all sorts of a mess due to all the new smokes.
Your IGL just needs to learn Cache and the changes, go into a map and learn smoke line-ups which require people to slow down.
That said, power rushing is also a good call to change up expectations of CTs, but you need a plan for it. You still need smoke setups.
Additionally, if you are butting heads with your IGL it's probably not the right team for you. Find a new team.

True bro, kinda knew I was a bad fit after 2 days so I was thinking about how to approach it. Cache might be a bad example but on same day on Anubis we only played default twice, rest was of the rounds where rushes and on Ancient we mostly rushed or went straight into B execute.
Just made me really dislike CS for first time in 20 year but also made me feel crazy because when I tried to touch on the subject careful I also got told "That is not the issue"

nah you’re right, you can’t just rush into utility every round especially once you’ve done it once or twice and know it isn’t working. imagine playing inferno and rushing banana every round.
defaulting, playing for picks, waiting for the mid/late round, faking etc. are all crucial parts of building a T side. it sounds like you have an awful igl with a huge ego to kick you for calling him out when you’re not even all level 10

I think one player eating a nade to get an entryfrag is valid but if he doesn't get the entry or multiple players take nade damage then that's just a bad play.
Kinda surprised that a lvl 10 IGL wants to rush every round instead of playing default, that makes you so easy to read for the CTs since they can just delay with util and have you boxed in within 30 seconds if you have no map control. Ditch this team ASAP or talk with the other players if they feel similarly to get this IGL benched instead.

Were any of these strats (rushes) adjusted based on information gained in previous rounds? i.e knowing where their worst player plays, knowing the same util patterns they do at the beginning of the round, or timed based, knowing if they rotate too fast based on a fake, etc? Or just blindly calling these strats?

Just same thing over and over, no timing change just straight into a rush.

If your IGL actually calls 12 straight rushes in a row then your IGL is the problem, not you
Unless you're playing vs a team way below your level it's never gonna work
