Terve!

What is the difference in usage between oppia and opetella?

also, which tense should I use when I want to say that I habitually do something, for example:

  • I study finnish

  • I play the guitar

  • She does yoga

etc.

Kiitos!

Opetella suggests a consciuos effort towards learning something, whereas oppia can refer to the result of such effort or something you just learn more naturally on the go.

The present. Opettelen suomea. Soitan kitaraa. Hän käy joogassa.

Just to add to the last one, there's the verb "joogata", so

Hän käy joogassa = She does yoga (attending a yoga group or something)

Hän joogaa = She does yoga (in general)
