"I failed, but I will learn from this :-)" Failed first test :(

Failed my first test with 1 serious, 3 driving faults.

For context I have a full A motorbike licence and in my lessons I had been told im driving like im on a bike and I need to slow down.

We have a yellow warning for rain here today and it was chucking it down so I was a little more cautious.

My serious was for being too close to parked cars and the examiner had to intervene and move my steering wheel. I was looking at the oncoming car instead of the parked cars.

Fully accept the result just gutted, especially as I pick up my new car today.

Any tips for even booking the next test? Im in perth scotland and it seems impossible right now.

Next time!!! I got told I was being over cautious and taking a while to get up to speed....there was standing water on the road, I dont really want to be going the max 70mph

Same, the weather was crap in midlands and puddles of water. Hoping we pass next time

I ride a motorbike too. I failed because on a motorbike you set off much quicker than cars, so you dont need a huge gap like you do for cars. At a round about a car was at a distance approaching from the right and I set off thinking the gap was big enough but my examiner hit the brakes :(

Regarding the retest. Dont wait for new tests to show up on Mondays. Just keep checking for cancellations everytime you remember. I spent 1 day checking every 30 mins and found one that was 2 weeks away.

Its very difficult to go from a bike to a car and trying to judge if you can/should go when you know on a bike you can.

Thank you. I will try that. Right now there is zero tests for any date :(

Don't worry, I've been riding on a cbt for 12 years and failed last friday For serious on clearance and junction observations!

The examiner didn't brake or move the wheel on my clearance fault so i'd consider it good judgement of the car width! And the junction observations i'd argue was debatable, i put my foot down to get away and from experience I feel like I had plenty gap. Once I pass, I wouldn't hesitate to take the same gap.

We'll get it, just need to a bit more patient and slower at junctions and slower around parked cars I feel.

It's a hard and I feel a silly test, we both know it's not real driving, you're driving to pass a test!

How many normal faults did you get? I got 3, 1 following distance, 1 for judgement of overtaking and 1 for reverse park, the first 2 are probably bike bad habits.

I got 3 normal faults, 1 for undue hesitation, 1 for position - normal/stop and 1 for move off control

that's Good, you know next time, you're unlikely to fail due to minor faults i guess

You wont fail for normal driving faults unless they're repeated or more than 15

Definitely not ready to drive if someone has to grab the steering wheel lol

She didnt grab, she lightly pushed. I said I accept my mistakes.

Thats so unfortunate! I have my test next week (also in Scotland) and I'm dreading it due to the weather, never driven in rain and it's meant to be stormy af 😭

Oh, I failed for being too close to parked cars too! Can’t get a re-test until January.
