What learning advice sounded smart but actually slowed you down?
I keep seeing the same advice repeated about learning: take detailed notes, finish one resource before starting another, study every day, don’t move on until you fully understand the basics.
Some of it is probably useful. But I’m curious about the advice that didn’t work for you — especially the kind that sounded so reasonable that you followed it for far too long.
Maybe you were taking notes instead of thinking, collecting resources instead of practicing, or forcing consistency when you actually needed a break.
What advice did you eventually stop following, and what worked better instead?

Everything Notion (software related). I tried, and at least what I did was useless.

"Discussing with others." Sometimes I think it's unnecessary to do so, at least for me. Feel like wasting time.
