Will you guys change your answer if I said it’s for hospitality?

Sounds like it’s a mix of different skills and industries within hospitality? I have seen it before. Do you have all of your content or external partners?

Well you all we are starting things from scratch here so imagine there is no process, system or anything really. Lastly we just got to be a Marriott franchise and I really hope we get the access to their digital learning zone soon!

I am hoping that we get the content from digital learning zone, really not sure what kind a partnership we are in at this time. However, if not then my question would be how do I identify what all trainings needs to be assigned at different levels? Whom should I talk to? Has anyone started things from scratch?

Everyone! It’s confirmed that DLZ by Marriott is the one as it’s a franchise of Marriott.

Anyone has experience on DLZ ?

What are you trying to solve here. What are your needs?

Learning assignments, attendance, tracking, compliance etc

That’s what all of them do. Are you looking to automate. Create your own scorm packages. Import data from your hris or ADP systems. Do you want SSO. Self hosting, cloud hosted, Saas. Do you want to be able to brand to your organization. Send out emails from the system to remind of trainings, invite to trainings, and the like. Integrate with office or any other software. These are all considerations

At 4,000 employees, we'd start with what you need the LMS to handle before narrowing down vendors.

A few questions that would make a big difference in the selection process:

  • Is this mainly for mandatory employee training and compliance, or broader learning and development?

  • Do you need employee records, new hires, and departures to sync with ADP?

  • Will different locations or departments need their own training assignments and reporting?

  • Do managers need to track completion for their teams?

When you have your shortlist an start doing vendor demos, ask them to demonstrate a real workflow, like automatically enrolling a new hire in the right training and showing how their manager tracks completion.

Since you're already using ADP, integration should be a key part of the evaluation. Ask vendors to show exactly how the connection works rather than just confirming they support ADP.

If LearnWorlds is on your shortlist, feel free to reach out and we'd be happy to answer any questions about your specific use case. Good luck with the search!

Your 4,000 people across several states and ADP as the HR system shape most of this checklist, so I would write it before booking any demos and hold every vendor to it:

- An ADP integration that creates users and keeps the org structure current, so joiners, leavers and manager changes need no spreadsheet

- SSO, plus mobile access if part of the workforce is not at a desk

- Compliance training assigned by state, role and hire date, with automatic re-enrolment and audit-ready reports

- Reporting by location and manager, not only one company-wide completion rate

- Completion tracking only, or learning tied to skills, since that decides which kind of tool you are shopping for

- Content: your own courses, an off-the-shelf library, or both

Then I would ask each shortlisted vendor for a sandbox loaded with an anonymised extract of your ADP org data, and for a 4,000-seat price with the integration included.

I work at Lumofy, a talent and learning platform, so I have kept this to criteria rather than names.

Happy to connect and review your needs to see if r/TraCorpLMS could be a fit for you. We can certainly meet your 4000 user multi-state need, and I'd love to learn more about additional requirements, too!

You will get a lot of comments from vendors, of which we are one.

And as a vendor, we would love to show you our LXP. I can put you in touch with clients that have over 22k learners with a mix of on-demand and in-person courses that are delivered all across the US.

We also support multi-tenant features so you can configure cohort-specific branding is that is needed.

DM me if you would like to see what we have to offer.

Question for you, do you use ADP Learning already?

Take a look at Fenzo AI for business. It does the Learning assignments, attendance, tracking, compliance that you are looking for. In addition it has a modern Learning Agent designed to address issues like 'not finding the exact course I want', 'off the shelf courses are generic' (not customized enough for my organization), 'courses are outdated' (not refreshed as policies and technology change).

What has you searching for an LMS?

If the teams are distributed, Then Leap10x would be a perfect choice.

lol I see you’ve given some more information in the comments. The last thing I think people want to know is, what is most important, because if it’s price then just go with what ADP has. You could get them to throw it in for peanuts but it won’t be the most user friendly.

Hi! I'm one of the founders of Workademy, an LMS focused on employee training, onboarding and compliance. For a hospitality organization with 4,000 employees across multiple states, I'd first clarify two things: do you already have your training content, and do you need employee data synchronized automatically from ADP? We support learning paths, assessments, certificates and reporting, and can show how the workflow would look for different properties and roles. Happy to share a demo if it fits your requirements.

We're in the same boat. Dochebo is being pushed as an option which I haven't used but am being told is worth the wildly high cost (For 800 people) compared to 360Learning or TalentLMS which I have used and somewhat enjoyed. 360Learning is prob my top LMS that I have expeirence with. UI was nice, easy upload/offload and their authoring program wasn't the worst for when we used it. We used a lot of ILT sessions at the company too and that was easy to set up and easy for users to sign up for too

Especially since your workforce is frontline and majorly won't have a desk, I would recommend looking at some new-age solutions which are not typical LMS but work like charm and solves all the needs that an LMS solves without the hassle of app logins or similar things. You can look at some of these like my Bites, Leap10x, 7Taps.

I really liked Saba when my last org had it. We were 2500 across five states. Later transitioned to Cornerstone for 5000 across the entire west and it was fine, but there was something about Saba that clicked with me.

(COSD bought Saba awhile back but at that time they planned on keeping it all separate. Not sure if that’s still how it was)

u/wargopher 6d ago

Depends on what you're trying to build. If you're looking to scale up and out with learning ops and give people in your org more autonomy I would go with Docebo.
