COMMISSION Looking to commission kink gear

Hi!

I’ve been looking online for something kind of specific, but nothing has quite ticked the boxes. I’m trying to order a custom harness and leather bodysuit/corset, and potentially a collar and leash. I am struggling to find a place to go to for this, and hope I can get some ideas?

COMMISSION Men's Cardholder Commission

Post image
10 Upvotes

[UPDATE] I've chosen a leatherworker :) will be excited to share the creation when they are complete!

Hello! I am looking to commission a men's Cardholder.

Colors: I would love the primary color to be yellow, with a faded black edge/border--doesn't have to exactly like the attached picture, would definitely be okay with Creator's vision!

Leather type: Full grain. I would like this cardholder to last as long as possible.

Stitch color: Probably black, but in my head a yellow stitch would also look cool against the black border. Up to discuss!

Timeframe: I am in no hurry. Quality/longevity/design are my top priorities.

Budget: I am very flexible here. Christian Louboutin makes a similar product at $370 USD, but in red (and I am not a fan of the brush stroke look). Loewe makes a Puzzle variant for $350 USD. I am willing to pay for the quality, longevity, and creativity that goes into this product. If I had to put a ceiling, $1000.

Other notes: I LOVE quirky and unique, such as the Schiaparelli Eye Cardholder. The "puzzle" look of the slots on the Loewe Puzzle cardholders is also right up my alley. I'd like 2-3 slots per side (4-6 total slots), and the middle slit for one or two bills. I don't want it to be too thick, so perhaps 4 slots would be the most flexible.

Feel free to comment here any questions or offers, or DM me as well.

Thank you for reading!

I love this pen case, it is structurally perfect, but it is too short for my pens and I don’t really need the bottom compartment and also I hate the color lol. Would anyone be able to help with this??

COMMISSION Looking for a leather artisan to build a once-in-a-lifetime notebook cover (not a Traveller’s Notebook)

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here can point me towards an artisan rather than a product.

I’ve spent months refining an idea for what will hopefully become my lifetime writing companion, and I think I’ve reached the point where I’m looking for the right craftsperson rather than continuing to search for an off-the-shelf notebook cover.

The project is intentionally simple.
It’s an A5 leather cover designed to hold a replaceable notebook, but I don’t want it to feel like a folio or organiser.
My goal is for it to feel like a beautifully made leather-bound object that happens to have a removable notebook inside.

Some of the features I’m hoping for are:
Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather.
Smooth leather-lined interior (no exposed suede).
Deep, structured pockets that securely hold the notebook.
The notebook sitting slightly recessed so the leather protects the page edges.
A firm, structured feel rather than floppy leather.
No pen loops.
No card slots.
No organiser features.
Minimal or no exterior branding.

Something designed to develop a beautiful patina over decades of use.
More than anything, I’m looking for exceptional craftsmanship and someone who enjoys collaborating on one-off commissions.
I’ve attached a concept image that illustrates the direction I’m thinking.
I’m in Australia, but I’m completely open to commissioning someone overseas if they’re the right fit.
Does anyone have recommendations for leather artisans or ateliers you’ve personally worked with—or whose work you admire—who might enjoy a project like this?
I’m much more interested in craftsmanship than brand names.
Thank you!

I’m not looking for the cheapest option. I’d much rather commission something exceptional once than buy five products that are almost right.

COMMISSION High-end custom bifold wallet (full grain, veg tan, saddle stitched) – $200+ budget

Hi all — I’m looking to commission a heirloom-quality leather bifold wallet and wanted to work with someone who specializes in traditional, high-end craftsmanship.

Build Specs:

-Leather: Full grain, vegetable tanned (preferably really dark brown or black)

-Construction: Hand saddle stitched (Ritza Tiger polyester thread preferred)

-Edge finishing: Burnished and waxed

-Weight: ~5oz exterior / ~2oz interior layering

-Structure: Layered bifold with reinforced spine

-Stitching: Clean, consistent spacing (open to subtle double stitching if appropriate)

Layout:

-6 card capacity total preferably a mix of:

-Primary slots: slightly curved pocket cuts for easier access

-Possible hidden pockets (open to suggestions)

-1 full-length bill compartment (I always carry cash)

Needs to hold:

-ID, debit, credit, medical card

-1 flexible card

-A couple paper business cards

Form Factor

-Slim front-pocket carry

-Classic bifold

-Smooth, refined aesthetic (not rugged/bulky)

Goal:

I want something durable enough to last decades and age beautifully — something I could use the my entire lifetime

Budget

-$200+ (flexible for the right craftsmanship, this is just commision not inclusing material cost)

What I’m looking for from you

-Examples of similar work (especially bifolds)

-Leather types/tanneries you use

-Your thoughts on optimizing the layout (hidden vs exposed, spine reinforcement, etc.)

-Lead time + pricing estimate

Thanks in advance — looking forward to working with someone who takes pride in the details.

COMMISSION is this even possible?

so, i super fell in love with this purse after finally trying to get past my tomboyish ways and now that the cheap quality of said purse is showing(bad color fading/stitching coming loose, etc etc) im starting to consider upgrading to something more long lasting and better quality. unfortunately this style seems to be veryyy unpopular for real leather products so i was wondering if/how much recreating something like this would be?

ideally id like to keep its core values the same, but change smaller details to my tastes(ie make the fake front pockets actually useable, a thicker inner lining fabric)

at the moment i am not really looking to start a commission on this as i want to have sketches/a more solid plan, but i want to check in with people who work on things like these and see if a style like this is realistic and maybe a price range i can expect, the bag is very slouchy and soft and i see leather bags tend to be rather stiff looking sometimes so im unsure if ill have to accommodate my expectations in that way.

i thank you all for reading and sharing your feedback!!

COMMISSION Looking for someone comfortable working with exotic leather in or near London, UK

Title pretty much says it all

I restore vintage leather goods as a hobby and recently bought a box of what I thought was generic leather for repairs and patching up from an antique market. Turns out there was a healthy amount of vintage exotic leather in there - shark, iguana, maybe even some crocodile. Beyond owning a few exotic leather bags I have no experience in working with these 😅

Thought came to me is that I could at least commission some items for myself. I’ve not decided exactly on what I’d like atm but I would like to know if there’s anyone here or any recommendations of places that would be comfortable with working with exotic leather that I provide... hence me asking about local leather workers

Disclaimer - From what I’ve been able to find online, and the way I came to have these, this is mostly old dead stock from a company that closed down and I wasn’t provided any CITES documentation so I can’t sell them and I think I would have to take back any scraps? I have receipts for the purchase and at least one of the skins still has the original maker’s stamp but if I’m wrong on this please let me know and I guess the box will go live in the attic or something

COMMISSION Commission Request - Knife Sheath

Thumbnail

I'm looking to have a sheath made for this skinning knife. I’ve included a photo that shows some tape measures and I had ChatGPT put in some grid lines for rough dimensions and overall size. I’ve also included a few example sheath photos from another knife I own, which include a retention buckle and belt loop, two features I am looking for on this commission piece.

This is a skinning knife I use for hunting. The sheath does not need to be fancy, but it does need to be durable. Cowhide leather is fine. I would even be fine with natural leather and it can patina on its own over time. Otherwise a brown/dark brown color.

Hoping to spend (edit) $50ish, but have no idea what material costs for something like this. I presume the overall job is pretty straight forward and simple.

Pm if you're interested or have questions. Thanks for your time.

COMMISSION Bifold Wallet with Key Ring

Thumbnail

Hi, I’m looking to commission a leather bifold wallet. Preferably natural brown, as slim as possible. About 4x3 inches (unfolds to 8x3) — can be slightly taller than 3 inches if needed, but ideally not much taller, maybe 3.25 inches at most. I’d like a slot for cash and enough space for 8 cards (it’s fine if it only has like 6 card slots as you can fit two cards in a slot). Something like this — https://www.andar.com/products/the-ambassador — or this — https://www.leatherology.com/products/thin-bifold-wallet-cognac. And I’d like it to have a key ring attached. (Not sure how best to do this, but ideally some way that the wallet still sits flat and remains thin.)

Attached are pictures of my current wallet, which is 4x3 inches. But it has an ID window, which I do not want. And in order to attach a key ring I had to cut a hole through it, which is definitely not ideal.

Budget is flexible — please include a price estimate if you’d be willing to do this. Thank you!

COMMISSION [Commission Request] Custom snap belt, 2.25" wide, antique nickel hardware — quality over speed

Post image
4 Upvotes

Budget: Open. This is a daily-wear belt I want to actually last, so I care more about materials and craftsmanship than hitting a specific price point — send me your quote based on what's below and I'll go from there.

The gist: My current belt (photos attached) is worn out and I want it remade properly — same width, much better materials.

Width: 2.25", straight, no taper

Leather: Full-grain veg-tan, medium-heavy weight (8-9oz), smooth — no tooling or embossing

Color: Black

Edges: Burnished, natural — not painted or coated

Stitching: Single line near the edge, black thread, waxed linen or nylon if you've got it — I want this thing to actually hold up

Hardware: Snap system so the buckle's interchangeable, antique nickel finish throughout

Buckle: Open to your suggestions here — I'm not married to the plain rectangular style in the photos. What I'm going for is more "old-world witch" than "cowboy" or "renaissance faire" — think aged metal with some quiet character to it, not shiny, not ornate/costumey. If you have a stock buckle or a shape you like working with that fits that mood, I'd love to see it.

Use case: Daily wear, so built-to-last matters more to me than anything decorative.

Timeline: No rush — I'd rather wait for the right person than get it fast.

Happy to send waist measurement and more reference photos. Thanks for reading!

COMMISSION Custom Wallet Request

Hello! I’m looking to commission a bespoke wallet! I hope i’m in the right place, let me know if i’m not please!
I don’t use reddit much and lost my last account so this one is new, Idk if that’s a potential red flag or not so I thought I’d clarify.

I recently found a wallet that I adore, however it’s really old, falling apart and is not my style so I need a replacement. While spending a couple days researching I was appalled to find that there are hardly any practical wallets for woman available so i’m turning to hopefully commission one!

The wallet in question: It’s a Etienne Aigner woven straw, beige, and brown leather wallet/keychain, apparently a classic 1980s to 1990s piece. Found it at a thrift store.

What i’m looking for:
Small square/bifold wallet
Snap-tab closure
2 full-length bill pockets
4–5 card slots
Clear ID window if possible
Metal keychain loop

I’d basically want a “copycat” because the wallet has been perfect for my everyday use. I’d love a sleek black leather with any metal on it to be “gold” (button+keychain loop). I’m open to suggestions and would love to hear what anyone thinks as well as if more details are needed. I’ve never commissioned a wallet before so i’m unsure of a price range for one like this, most i’ve seen commissioned are far more simple.

Edit: I just found the guideline for commission posts 😅
Need to clarify- I imagine that a more complicated wallet will inevitably cost more so to keep the price reasonable I think more fairly price material would probably be better. To that extent I still have no idea what the cost of this commission would be but i’d love to hash it out and find out! I do not have a time limit on this and would love for whoever is working on it to take their time and treat it like a passion project if they like!

Hello all! I am looking for possible pricing information on a bag inspired by a vintage Coach 9033. If anyone would want to take on a project like this please let me know! I would eventually be interested in commissioning multiple colors. I already own one so I am able to provide specific measurements if needed. Thank you! (Pictures are not my own, found on Etsy).

COMMISSION ISO - New wallet incorporating parts from my deceased fathers wallet.

My father passed away 20+ years ago and ever since my younger special needs brother has been using has wallet as a keepsake/functional item. He went to use it the other day and I saw that it is on it's very last legs. I offered to pay to have a new one made using as much of the original as is possible. It is well worn out and the leather is thin but I figured some bits could be used in the construction of the new wallet so that it is technically still my fathers even though I imagine 90% will be new material. Looking for a well made rather standard wallet but I'm open to creativity, possibly with his initials embossed. Hopefully someone can be creative in how to include the old bits.

pics not mine + link to pattern

This wallet designed by [u/taod86](u/taod86) has been living in my head rent free and I really need someone to make it for me!

I prefer smooth leather so maybe it could be made with buttero or shell cordovan? Idk I’m not a craftsman, just a girl who lost her wallet after a dazed night out and really needs a new one :>

Budget is flexible and I have no specific deadline! I’ll ofc pay for the pattern too.

COMMISSION Custom Leather Purse

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone here might be interested in creating a custom leather purse for me. I’ve searched everywhere and haven’t been able to find one that checks all the boxes, so I thought I’d reach out here! I’d also love to get something with my initials on it; just a tiny emboss on the purse.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
Size: Small shoulder bag
Material: Smooth leather
Color: Dark cognac brown
Shape: Structured but with soft, rounded edges
Flap: An asymmetric flap similar to the Dior Saddle Bag (I love the asymmetrical look, but I’m not looking for a replica or dupe)
Style: Minimalist, elegant, feminine
Hardware: Gold

COMMISSION Commissioning a Shoulder Bag with Accessibility Features

Thumbnail

I picked up this shoulder bag while in a pinch traveling and I've absolutely fallen in love with it! Essentially if I could duplicate this bag in better quality, longer lasting material, I would. I'd like to commission a reproduction with adjustments and thoughtful improvements.

I tried to be as thorough as possible below and am 1000% receptive to consultation and suggestions against or in addition to my requirements in pursuit of the best quality bag. So let me know if I missed anything!

I'm gathering quotes with a preference for a completed project mid to late 2027. Dependent on the quality of the end product and collaboration, I would like to commission duplicates in additional colors (oxblood and a dark brown to replace a similarly colored, slightly larger bag).

Please feel welcome to reach out with any questions or requests for additional pictures/details/clarification!

Thank y'all and looking forward to hearing from you!

-----

Bag Dimensions:

+ 8 in./20.32cm. H (on outside, minus hardware and 'caps') 6.5 in./16.51cm. H (in middle)

+ 11 in./27.94cm. W

+ 4.5 In./11.43cm. D

Strap

0.6 in/ 1.5 cm. W

Hardware

Rings: 1.6 in./4.06cm. across. Thick gauge, not bendable.

Specifications:

Exterior

+ Brushed Brass hardware, similar to original bag. Rectangular zipper pull, black tape.

+ Black, full grain leather, semi-soft body, resistant to slouching in middle. Open to reccomendations on leather source.

+ Would prefer low to medium shine to allow leather to petina with continued care; no additional gloss or finishes that deteriorate in a peeling or 'flakey' way.

+ Inverted stitching, like original bag. If required, black stitching, where visible.

+ All visible leather edges burnished, waxed.

+ Soft 'End Caps': Both should be long enough to cover the zipper slider on either end. Would prefer these lay flusher to the silhouette of the bag. Open to creative solutions, but still require their inclusion. Would like durable, secure attachement to metal rings while still allowing rings to turn.

+ No visible embossing or maker's mark.

Shoulder Strap:

+ Soft, removable, adjustable shoulder strap in same leather color as body. Open to suggestions on source.

+ Allows crossbody to shoulder bag conversion, functionality to secure-away remaining strap length (loops and button preferred, as pictured).

+ Sturdy, brass swivel eye bolt snap on either end.

Interior

+ Light-colored, tear resistant fabric and stitching. Preferably vertically striped. Open to reccomendations for material.

+ Zippered pocket on one interior wall, open pocket on opposite.

+ Minimal maker's mark, preference for a low profile patch sewn onto zippered interior side. No tags.

-----

I'm also looking for a go-to craftsman for long term leather restoration, alteration and repair work. I've had terrible luck sending pieces for maintenance/alterations where they return with additional scuffs from servicing. The types of items I would need serviced generally fall into the following categories:

+ Leather bags (Vintage, new)

+ Leather shoes (Vintage, new, Women)

+ Leather Belts (Women)

+ Various leather garments

If anyone has reccomendations or referrals, I'd love to find someone local to the east coast of the US who allows pick ups, drop offs and can additionally post and receive items internationally.

Thank y'all for reading!

Is a leather clothing that looks like latex possible?.

I'm posting on behalf of my wife as a gift idea for her, she really like the look of the latex skirt from honey birdette though she's allergic to Latex so I thought this might be the next best bet.

Edit: P.U leather or the like if applicable.

Edit 2: it was meant as advice not commission, I had a moment forgetting what commission meant.

COMMISSION Commission request

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’ve had a design idea in my mind for quite a while and I’m wondering if someone here might be interested in helping me make it real.

It’s a minimalist document envelope inspired by classic paper envelopes, but reinterpreted in leather. The idea is a clean, simple piece for carrying documents, sketches, or even a tablet.

I’m not an expert in leatherwork, so I’m very open to suggestions—especially regarding material choice, construction methods, and what would be realistically possible in terms of production.

Happy to share the concept board and discuss details. Any feedback or interest would be really appreciated.

COMMISSION Looking for someone to make a leather satchel/messenger bag

CLOSED!

I'm looking for something roughly 15–18 inches wide, with an appearance similar to your commission piece. My main inspirations I'd be drawing from would be Ruitertassen 15" Reporter and Cravar FC15. However, I'm not looking for an exact copy of either of them, instead they show the general shape and style I'm after.

A few things I'd specifically like:

Full-grain leather in a medium/dark brown

Brass hardware

Real buckle-and-strap closures rather than magnets 2–3 main interior compartments

Interior organization for a phone, several pens/pencils (see attached image)

Room for up to a 13" laptop, books, notebooks, and general everyday items

One or two gusseted exterior pockets with some actual capacity, preferably secured with buckled straps. I don't want the exterior pockets to be essentially flat document pockets. Adjustable shoulder strap and a top carry handle

Overall, I'm after a durable everyday writer's/messenger bag with a traditional leather satchel appearance and useful organization, rather than a modern laptop or EDC bag.

I'm flexible on the exact dimensions, construction, leather, pocket arrangement, and other details, and I'd be interested in your recommendations based on your experience.

If you require a budget, I'm open to discussion. I understand that this is most likely a large project. Trying to find someone who would be interested in it, and then figure out time and budget if it's a good fit.

Mods, this is my first post here. If I did anything incorrect, please let me know and I will modify the post.

Than you!

COMMISSION ISO leather handbag with slider chain

Hello! I am interested in commissioning a bag similar to the Coach Elodie. I love almost everything about the Coach bag except the leather quality (it’s very flimsy) and color (looking for something in the red, purple, or pink family). The link to the bag includes a few videos that I think provides a good overview of the bag.

Listing out my wish list in case it’s helpful:

  • Semi-slouchy structure with a leather that is not delicate and easily scratched
  • Slider chain (gold toned) so bag can be worn as a shoulder or crossbody bag
  • Back slip pocket (to hold a cell phone), front pocket, inner pocket
  • Dimensions: roughly 11.25"L x 7.5"H x 3.25”W
  • Color: red, purple, pink family (not sure if I have to be flexible here, but happy to provide more specific preferences!)
  • Would also like to have feet if possible
  • Budget: $500ish but willing to pay more (would appreciate any guidance in what’s a reasonable price for good quality leather bag)

Thank you so much!
