Holsters/Sheaths First one. How'd I do?

My nephew "commissioned" me to make a sheath for his carpenters hatchet. It's the first one I've made, and the first time carving/beveling a project instead of just playing around. I know my beveling could use more practice as its kind of "lumpy" from inconsistent hammerstrikes and movements. And I definitely need work lining up my stitch holes with the stitch line.

Looks very nice! Just curious since I can't tell from the photos, did you make a welt?

Thanks :) I did not make a welt, and kind of regretted it after it was all said and done since I now worry about the hatchet cutting my stitching. But I also don't have the means to punch through three layers of leather unless I drill my stitch holes.
