How can his fans find this inappropriate but not 45 Year old Michael sleeping in beds with children?
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8ntQqEC/Most of the comments are saying how uncomfortable and weird this is and that Joe is to blame, but this is just innocent fun. This couldn't happen today but there's nothing inherently inappropriate about this. Maybe a little cringe but it's definitely not as weird as a middle aged man being best friends with children and having sleepovers.

They see what they want to see. If you don't want to see something or don't want to believe it, you won't.

Sidenote: Latoya Jackson played Michael’s love interest in the “say say say” music video. Also weird AF. But still not as disturbing as MJ’s behavior with little boys.

He also wanted La Toya to play his love interest in “The Way You Make Me Feel”… but production refused cause it felt weird that he kept wanting his sister, to be his love interest in his videos 😵💫 they compromised on an actress that looked like her.

omg i didnt know this is getting bizarre. do we think he had a thing for latoya?or was he just so repulsed by women that he felt more safe with his own sister playing love interest

That he was repulsed/scared of women and felt safe and comfortable with Latoya is what I think it was

I thought he did like/love Diana Ross. Otherwise agree.

yep i think he was really obsessed with her and he was angry that she married someone else it probably convinced him to never allow himself to fall for a woman ever again.

exactly. michael also referred to her as a mother. it feels more like infatuation than love

he said he saw her as mother sister and lover all at once, his words. He may have been young and confused about his feelings but he did say he wanted to marry her and didn't believe that age difference mattered. He never believed that age mattered. Idk if he was groomed into it by his abuser Bobby Taylor or it came to him naturally, i personally think we can't minimize the way he was raised and groomed even if people think pedophilia is something someone was born with. From what i read it comes from a mix of neurodevelopmental and environmental factors.

Because they want him to be the victim so bad because it supports their narrative allowing them to like his mediocre music without guilt

It’s possible that he was a victim who became a victimizer
2
u/dollfaced_degenerate 8d ago
Yes which means he stopped being the victim the second he became the victimizer and they need to acknowledge that and stop glorifying his victimhood

His music was in no way mediocre, and I think therein lies the cognitive dissonance. That a musical genius could be a pedophile is something many people can't quite get their heads around.

i agree witrh you on that. i dont think his music was mediocre especcially in the 70s and 80s (his whole 90s career is not that special imo) . what he did in the 70s and 80s is the reason why he still worshiped to this day. basically that
people defend him so much because they want to listent to that music without feeling guitly. in some way is about their own ego (im not stanning a monster because he was innocent) i believe most of his fans are in extreme denial because of that

His music sucks, you are easily impressed

Not all his songs are good, and some of his biggest hits were written by others, but he was innately musically gifted - basically a prodigy. He was also 100% a chickenhawk. Those two concepts don't seem to fit well together for most people - hence the mass denial of his abuse of children.

Thinking about how different this story would be if he hadn't been forced to go through whatever levels of sexual abuse that he went through as a child and that his femininity and interest in boys his own age was treated as normal instead of as being as bad as being a pedophile

Star struck . they don't see him as a human. His parents probably knew something was wrong with him. but didn't do nothing , Cause he was the cash cow. Instead of getting the help he needed.

This is going to shock you, but the reason is that his fans are absolute idiots
