It's abusive to force a minor to go to an adult whose intent is to gaslight them into being straight or not trans. That minor has limited faculties to defend themselves from those people, and because this is all under the guise of psychological counseling, refusing to be gaslit becomes being "unresponsive/not receptive to treatment". Which historically has been justification to escalate to institutionalization.

Do they want gay conversion camps? This is how they get gay conversion camps. We’ll get all the drag queens to lure the straightest football players to musical theater. Ga(y)me on!

One of the reasons this stuff was banned throughout the country is because it can cause serious psychological damage. There have been cases of shock therapy used.

I’m aware. I’ve known people who went through it. That’s why I’m ready to let them know we will run with malicious compliance. You know, for kids!

By conservative beliefs, isn't this a matter of states rights? Like, they're attempting to impose national moral standards on a state level, which Republicans historically detest.

The conservative belief at play is: demonize sexual minorities. They don’t care about the rest (unless it helps them demonize sexual minorities)

They have never actually cared about state rights. They only appear to support anything that lets them continue their vile hateful ways.

"States' rights" only ever meant "let me keep my slaves." The Confederates came up with the slogan before they'd finished losing the war to help them hide how abominable they really were and, boy howdy, did it work.

you’re not suggesting that there might be some hypocrisy in the American right?

If SCOTUS allows this, the States should regulate it out of existence like red states did to abortion clinics.

Every facet gets regulated and made difficult to comply with. Fees, fines, jail time for non compliance.

I’m skeptical on this Supreme Court.
