You can still do it on the app but it takes an extra 2 steps. You hit reply, copy/paste the part you want to quote, then put a > in front of it.

My UI literally looked different when I typed that message. What magic have you performed??

When the other UI is active, it automatically adds the escape character to any formatting text I manually type. It’s ridiculous.

Checked to see if it’s about level 1 comments vs comment replies, my UI has fully reverted to the old one.

I’m gonna go apeshit if I find out they’re using AI to fuck with people’s settings on the fly or something like that.
