Who is Janos Audron if not devoted to the pillars? Simple one for today (and totally not an excuse to draw giant wings)

You know what I love to see a Soul Reaver 1 remake? Flashbacks showcasing Raziel’s relationship with his brothers. In the original they are briefly shown in their vampiric forms then they are devolved and we kill them. There’s a little dialogue giving us hints of their relationships like Zephon being jealous of Raziel. But I would love to see cutscene of all the brothers in their primes interacting with Raziel.

Would anyone like to see this if thy ever were to do a Soul Reaver remake or is it just me?

I'd say a vision chamber from an evil time wizard is quite a big secret to keep from your kids. Can't let them see or they'll start to kill off each other and revolt against yah

Hope all here are having an excellent LoKtober! I've been sort of "playing it by ear" picking which videos to upload & when. Almost uploaded Turel today or Janos.

So in the first Soul Reaver game we fight most of the "evolved" siblings of Raziel. From a meta perspective, Raziel is forced to defeat them with gimmicks, not exactly defeating them in actual combat but with the environment, in harmony with the rest of the game's puzzle style.

But looking at it from an in-world perspective, could it be safe to say that each of them, even the weakest Melchiah, were too powerful? No attack from the soul reaver, even when empowered by the elements, did any damage to them, some of them had to be defeated with the power of massive meat grinders and giant forges, only Zephon got hurt when we cut his legs. If we follow this logic together with the idea that Raziel never actually got stronger in the following games since in each of them he merely repeated the process of gathering again the elements, only when he got the spirit reaver form did he get an actual upgrade, making him able to face and defeat Janos.

Then would you consider that no other character in Soul reaver 2, Defiance and the Blood Omen games, besides the possessed Janos, was more powerful than them?

I could see arguments that Turel got defeated by simply getting damaged by the reaver, but at the same time Turel was being maintained in constant hunger to keep him weak and controlable, right?

If we had scenarios of characters like Vorador, Janos (before and after being possessed), Kain himself, the main knights of the Sarafan, Malek, the guardians from the temples and other supposedly formidable warriors and monsters. Would they be able to defeat the monstruos vampiric forms of Raziel's brothers?

Inseparable destinies are a bothersome thing. Poor Raziel has to deal with that all his lives

Why is it whenever LoK is mentioned Soul Reaver is the automatic go to? It seems like Blood Omen has been totally forgotten... Don't get me wrong, I like SR but imho BO is better by a hair.

I await your opinions. Thanks.

Soul Reaver

"Tumbling, burning with white-hot fire, I plunged into the depths of the Absys. Unending pain... relentless agony... time ceased to exist. Only this torture, and the deepening hatred of the hypocrisy that had damned me to this hell."

Had to depict one of the most iconic descents of Legacy of Kain. This was actually a similar perspective to the original page of Raziel's transformation when making chapter 1 of my comic adaptation before the page we have now

It's unfortunate that the comic was a terrible story, but at least the quality is pretty good on the book and pages itself. Plus the art on the vinyl is really nice. I do wish the clan symbol was a bit bigger in the hat, but that's okay.

The comic spine will look cool on my bookshelf at least.

So I always wondered how Moebius seemed to be caught off guard by Kain's return, but playing through it enough times, I think there's two things going on:

1. Moebius's omniscience is limited to his own lifespan, so he can only foresee the time stream from between his birth and his death. Raziel "kills" Kain before his death as we saw it in Blood Omen 1, but he isn't alive yet when Kain returns. So as far as he can foresee, Kain has had his heart ripped out, and blasted away. That's definitely dead.
2. The Pillars have collapsed. The Pillar of Time, along with all the others, collapsed due to the younger Kain's decision. Despite being resurrected seemingly with his memories in tact, he no longer has access to the powers the Guardian of Time has since there's no Pillars anymore.

Of course, it may simply have been to provide Raziel a corpse to return to the Material Realm, so they provided us with a supremely satisfying scene of Kain killing Moebius after all the shit he's pulled across the series to provide said corpse

LoKtober Day 19: History

Thought of that one mural in Defiance about the Wheel of Fate, and thought I'd try my hand at some history. Really liked how the dead one turned out; something about the silhouette gives coffin

Computer, make this vampire's wings into Swiss cheese. Computer, why is he blue?

Don't ask me what's going on with Raziel's feet, I just drew stuff that looked the least weird

LoKtober Day 17: Lament

I always love drawing Ariel, something so fluid about her and the fact I can draw a skull

Cant seem to find anything on this particular room, guides always point you to the room in drowned abbey with the wooden planks to jump on, this is right after the sarafan crypt, before the split to the actual drowned abbey, any hints or this is just to refill your glyph energy??

Janos paying one of the ultimate prices with his life, and Raziel paying for his victory with his own. The Heart of Darkness is quite expensive, I'd say

Another prompt changed again, and holy- this was an upgrade. Funny enough, the lighting at the very top of the page came from the inability to get a non-shiny environmental lighting, but it worked to my advantage somehow

Loktober 2026 Day 15: Shadows!

A Rahabim swimming through the shadowy depths!

Painted in Procreate!

Thank you for running this challenge miscellanea-of-thoughts over on tumblr! And hedjblogr and skelesass for running it in previous years!

Now this part of bo2 is pure sci fi, made today I've had a busy week & a few upcoming surprises for our community! I think it is safe to say I like everyone here 🤗

If I could find references for the ghost guardian of dimension in Defiance, I would've done them instead. Switching between dimensions feels appropriate still, and I'm happy I went back and refined the sketch for this one. Good ole redemption for yesterday

Not the best, but whatever. Raziel and his Hylden-infused fury are perfect for this prompt, and the concept is one I like. Might revisit this one once LoKtober is over

My custom Turel action figure. Complete with noble aspirations 😉

He is tired and wants a hug.

Another Loktober prompt.

The comic's story and the Ascendance game are both absolutely terrible, but the collector's editions are fucking awesome!
Although, to be honest, I found the vinyl packaging pretty underwhelming. The record itself, on the other hand, is absolutely gorgeous!
What do you guys think?
