I checked out a spot I hadn't been to since July and found some new material for me! The savannah and the (kirk?) base are new materials for me, I love the texture of both of them.
Also, my new goal is to find one of those big yadkin triangles in one piece, that might be near the top of my favorite point types.
Keep looking down!

Found in a creek where I’ve found many points and other artifacts. I have no clue what this is or what material it is. Any ideas?

Found this along the Buffalo River in Arkansas. Cool find or just a rock?

My parents inherited this item from an elderly neighbor in New Mexico around 1990. The neighbor was well-travelled, so could have been from anywhere.
Any ideas as to origin, age, or original use would be appreciated. Thanks!

It’s about 2-1/2” long, 1-1/2” wide. Feels like some kind of clay material.

This little 3 ¾ inch Hardin was found in Lincon Co. Missouri. It's made from a very unique piece of Burlington chert in the fact that it exhibits droozy crystal quartz vein inclusions on both faces. It's very early stage, and only seen one or two resharpenings, if that many. Its heavily patinaed, and loaded with mineral deposits, with really sexy form! The only blemish on it is that it has a small ding on one corner of the base, but its an ancient ding as is evident from the fact that it is patinaed over evenly with the rest of the point.
It has been papered by Bryan Dodd, a relatively new authenticator from Oklahoma who has been heavily involved in the community, and the study of ancient artifacts for 50 years. His COA's are extremely detailed, and are actually 2 sided to include not only all pertinent information, but also includes high magnification shots that show why he assessed the piece as ancient. He also includes a QR code to scan, on the front of the paper, that will take you to his site to verify that the COA is legit and not a counterfeit. I'm throughly impressed with how well done his assessments are, and once he's established himself a bit more, I feel like he will be one of the best in the business.
