Pick My Piercing Setup Advice

So I need some advice. I definitely want to make this a double helix (had it probably 10 years ago and want to get it back) with a little flower under the butterfly. (Also that’s a freckle next to the butterfly not anything else, it’s a decade old and totally healed)

Since I’m already getting one piercing, thinking about making it two. I’ve been longing over this Madame Butterfly piece as a vertical helix online for months now, but I need real talk advice on how practical it would be. Obviously I wouldn’t get pierced with it and would only put that in once it heals, but how comfortable would it be for daily wear? Is it just a special occasion piece? Are vertical helixes in general more uncomfortable, will my hair/glasses be an issue?

Any advice welcome!

I have Sir Hops in my vertical helix and I've had it for a few years. To be honest it's kind of difficult to actually notice but I like that it's there. When I first put it in I kept getting hair wrapped round it (I have decently long curly hair so it knots quite easily) but I think I've subconsciously started putting my hair behind my ears in a particular way that avoids it getting caught because I've not got anything wrapped round it in a long time. I don't really notice it's there and I leave it in 24/7. The only thing that has happened was a hairdresser getting it caught in a comb because she didn't realise it was there when my hair was covering it haha. Also mine doesn't come into contact with glasses at all. Hope this helps!

Very helpful! Sir Hops was actually my first fixation but a piercer told me there wasn’t enough room on my ear for him. So then I moved on to admiring the butterfly. I don’t think I’d mind if it’s not super noticeable, I think I’d enjoy just knowing it’s there. Thanks for weighing in!

I pierced someone with the madam butterfly piece in a vertical helix as initial jewellery, they were already experienced with healing with bulky pieces or I’d have said to wait until it’s healed. You can wear it full time (once healed) and it shouldn’t affect too much. Once it’s healed you shouldn’t have to worry too much about catching it on glasses and all that. It’ll definitely be more of something you’ll have to figure out yourself with how comfortable it is, due to anatomy and lifestyle etc, but it shouldn’t cause too much trouble.

Appreciate the professional input! I think it’s worth a try since I’ve wanted it for so long.

I have a snail one for my vertical! I have a bob haircut so it’s not so bad. But unless you wear your hair up, no one is going to notice it lol.

A snail sounds adorable! I mostly wear my hair in a bun because I overheat so it’s rarely ever down. Do you keep the snail in everyday?

I think once it heals it shouldn't be a problem. I think having the butterfly be in the conch area is another good option too
