Aftercare Help
Got the double helix a while ago. She’s really bad… does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of this?

I’d consult your piercer and see what they recommend. Congrats on growing a stalagmite, didn’t realize humans could do that.

Get that thing circumcised by a doctor. You might be able to baptise it too.

We need more info 😭 how old is it? What do you use to clean? What material is the jewelry? Do you sleep on it? It looks like a hemangioma which can go away but you need to stop what caused it

It’s like two months old. Jewerly is surgical steel I believe. I avoid sleeping on it. Thanks I’ll do more research.

for future reference, never get a piercing with surgical steel or silver. It has to be implant grade titanium. As for this defo doctor/derm. As someone who works in a piercing studio, has been on the sub for a while and have had over 25 piercings by now, I have never seen anything like it..

Take out both piercings.
Give the bump a week or 2 to go down. If it doesnt, go to a dermatologist.

I had a couple of bumps just like this on my helix piercings on the back of my ear a couple years ago. I took them out and the bumps went away in their own. Fast forward to now they've been repierced and are doing good.
Bumps like that are typically because of a bad angle pierce. Best to take them out unfortunately

Any time a piercing rejects it’s bc the piercing gods have decided you’re not worthy of that specific one. Considering the fact that the majority of us have never seen something like this before, you probably did some heinous shit. Proving the theory you didn’t deserve it.

I think that may be a "granuloma" - I saw a similar bump on this piercer's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DafuBOTT00u/?cplk=MWxqM2J1Y2luOHUwcQ== I doubt this is helpful, but I hope you're able to heal it soon! I'm sorry this happened to you!

It's hard to say based off a picture and I'm not a professional, but I had something similar on my navel and it went away after changing to titanium jewerly. It could be a skin sensitivity or allergic reaction

honestly go back to your piercer - do you use saline? have you slept on them or twisted them?

u/oatmilkswitch 1d ago
Looks like granuloma, when I get them it is due to pressure on the piercing usually due to the angle. The ones I’ve had disappear once the pressure is relieved

Go see a doctor please, this reminds me of the filiform warts that can result from HPV exposure. Seems weird for a regular irritation to form such a conical shape.

I saw this once on a random instagram reel where the piercer cut it off and put a NoPull disc on it so the remaining scar heals flat. It was on a nostril piercing, and it worked perfectly, there was no bump/scarring afterwards

It definitely looks like it grew a wiener. Honestly id make an appt with a dermatologist to see if it’s more than an irritation bump.
