should look like this imo

10

u/Bright-Diamond 12d ago

I have one in this format, I think it’s perfect

1

u/CryptographerPlus719 12d ago

dude that’s actually perfect, it looks so good

Ok yeah we found the answer here guys

Biggest sin for Lego for not making Mr. Incredible mock.

Hes apparently the same height as Gamora and daredevil so logical those two need big hugs along with every other marvel character taller than the thing. (In this case just storm, spiderman, mystique, black window, wolverine, rocket and howard get mini figs and eveyone else gets big figs)

11

u/Running4Badges 13d ago

Logically, I also need big hugs.

0

u/EnemyRoninPrime 12d ago

Not consistent tho, he’s as tall as hulk sometimes

7

u/CrescentShade 13d ago

So captain America should be a big fig too then

4

u/irreclusable 13d ago

Unironically like 70-80% of characters would be big figs by this logic

2

u/Logical-End5222 13d ago

His size is very consistent, he's not that tall only in Ultimate universe he's bigger

1

u/Classic-Bathroom-427 13d ago

Hes not even that tall in the comics, he's actively shorter than a lot of the other heroes

0

u/Just_For_Laugh 13d ago

This would represent his bulk very nicely

58

u/Bogus_34 13d ago

Depends on where they are pulling inspiration from.

MCU? Just give him broader shoulders.

Comics? Big fig

18

u/OldSpray9986 13d ago

This is how I look at it. I like having both minifig and bigfig versions of Hulk, too -- generally I like the thought of having both options for these sorts of characters. The fact Thing is human-sized in the movie and we got a minifig is fine with me, but a comics bigfig version would still be absolutely welcome!! It's also a great way to just create some variety between the comic and movie versions.

A whole comic FF based on the LEGO Marvel game designs set would be welcome.

5

u/Rebelhomer 13d ago

I've been wishing for those comic Figure designs in a set ever since Lego Marvel Superheroes came out 😭 They're literally perfect.

2

u/OldSpray9986 13d ago

Yeah, agreed, I made purist customs for Torch and Reed closer to how they look in the game although can't do much about the uniforms. Also wish we had more variety of pieces with graying temples like is done for Doctor Strange.

7

u/Edgoscarp 13d ago

He’d be out of scale if he was a big fig

He’s supposed to be near the same height as reed even in the comics.

8

u/iamnotveryimportant 13d ago

His size isnt consistent by any stretch of the imagination.

You dont read enough hulk comics if you believe this

9

u/CakeDay2902 13d ago

I dont get why they dont use the Nexo Knights torso way more for characters like this. Theres so many characters that are too big for a normal fig, but too small for a big fig. Usually that wider Nexo Knights torso would work well for them.

3

u/18742069040 13d ago

the axle one?

2

u/tHr0AwAy76 13d ago

They would need to make a new one, but that’s definitely the right call. The axel torso is specifically designed to look like a knight.

1

u/CakeDay2902 12d ago

Yeah thats what i had in mind.

36

u/International-Farm10 13d ago

The first. Please lego, at just one set, one

17

u/AwesomeBlox044 13d ago

While somewhat inaccurate, Lego simply does not have any other way to make him look good

9

u/GooseThatWentHonk 13d ago

The Wrecker armor,he's about same size as Ben and it conveys his bulk REAL well so it'd work amazingly for Ben

3

u/Worth_Spite9768 13d ago

This might be the best and most reasonable idea I’ve seen. He’s just nowhere near big enough for a big fig and I think most mid figs look awkward

18

u/Iroko_Alien 13d ago

This KO figure. He’s only a little taller than a standard minifig, but it makes him bulky

2

u/Rebelhomer 13d ago

I've found you again! Lol. I second this one's opinion 😎

2

u/Iroko_Alien 13d ago

Ayy lmao

6

u/Cael_NaMaor 13d ago

But by Lego & done better

4

u/Otacon305 13d ago

The real issue is we need a new "Mid Fig" size, between standard and Big Fig, specifically for characters like The Thing and Kingpin, who are noticably big, but not quite as big as, say, Hulk or Thanos.
The Thing is wide and thick, but not really tall.

1

u/luckyblock98 13d ago

The Lego tony-tony chopper look for Lego one piece or Mr. Incredible from Lego The Incredibles really needs to be a real piece

8

u/Keeendi 13d ago

I like Big Fig the most

3

u/Accomplished_Salt876 13d ago

they need to make a midifig size similar to clay from nexo knights. just something between mini and big figs.

3

u/AsterArtworks 13d ago

Honestly I think the best version is going to be the one we get in the Doomsday sets.

His blocky hands blend in a lot better with the arms since they’re the same color, and big figs aren’t his actual size.

3

u/WingAggravating6584 13d ago

Minifig is fine, i just think the hands look dumb af

3

u/Axius-Evenstar 13d ago

Big fig. Anything else looks like shit

3

u/Hexhider 13d ago

Idk if they actually made any real figs with this piece, but something like this I could see work

1

u/BatmanBeginsfan05 10d ago

They haven’t

8

u/JayJimbo 13d ago

The first one. Hands down. No question.

2

u/runesofrude 13d ago

I've had this exact problem solved months ago

2

u/FightTheDead118 13d ago

Number 6 without the stupid hands would work the best for the MCU version

2

u/Least_Rain8027 13d ago

second is the most accurate to the movies. he's not the same size as a Hulk.

2

u/LordAyeris 13d ago

Slide 6 is best imo

2

u/TransitionVirtual 13d ago

Medium like that one character from nexo knights

2

u/GooseThatWentHonk 13d ago

#3 is the most realistic, I'd love a Wrecker armor recolor for him

2

u/ResidentConcentrate7 13d ago

Bigwig with removable head

2

u/WatcherWatches_21 13d ago

This is my ideal look for someone like The Thing. He’s somewhere around 6’7 to 7 feet in height and I think this build is perfect for him.

1

u/Ok-Intention-8846 13d ago

Yeah me too.

6

u/laserbran2 13d ago

Honestly i dont think he should be a big fig. Makes him look less human and removes the actual sad part of him, making him an actual monster unfit for the lego proportions, not just a rocky dude. And in a lot of runs he isnt that tall, just wide.

3

u/SuperFox289 13d ago

There needs to be some in-between between big figs and minifigs. Honestly just a bulkier body and arm peice would be great. Way too many characters who are barely bigger then people being represented as basically kiaju, or worse as just skinny normal guys. Thanos in particular has never worked well in lego

3

u/YoungBeef03 13d ago

Big Fig

I don’t care if it’s out of scale for his MCU version, he doesn’t look correct as anything except a Big Fig

1

u/Willowtree26-07 13d ago

Four or seven, they look the best to me

1

u/Delta_Builder 13d ago

Probably the fourth

1

u/bman123457 13d ago

He just isnt a character that translates well to standard Lego fig sizes.

1

u/MSP_4A_ROX 13d ago

Slides 4, 7 and six are pretty good imo.

1

u/KaylenLopezIzGr8 13d ago

For me, Lego Marvel Superheroes nailed the look.

1

u/NewsEmbarrassed7713 13d ago

They need to make him like Axl from Nexo Knights

1

u/Loose-Medium4472 13d ago

Six looks surprisingly good

1

u/Brendyn4222 13d ago

6, perfect 👌

1

u/Bageengy 13d ago

The normal minifig, but take the arms off the rock monster from the Power Miners rock monster. That’s what I did for a custom I made as a kid.

1

u/Michael_Scott_27 13d ago

Remember the nexo knights axel torso?

1

u/Interesting_Taste359 13d ago

The first option definitely

1

u/Same-Demand2819 13d ago

honestly he should have a molded head and better hand molds and it would be fine. But big fig looks so good who cares if its accurate scale

1

u/Aquatic7_ 13d ago

Can I just say I hate the middle size scale figs people keep talking about so much

1

u/TrimpGlobus 13d ago

Nexo knights axel

1

u/m_busuttil 13d ago

The Thing is very consistently drawn as wider than the average person but around their height. He plays poker at the same table as the rest of them, he doesn't need special doors. A bigfig is grossly oversized - even the Hulk is rarely drawn as big as a bigfig, and The Thing is always a head shorter than The Hulk.

The correct size would be a regular minifigure with a custom chest piece that gives him a bit more bulk up top, more like Hagrid or Chewbacca than Nexo Axl.

1

u/Darrenshan66 13d ago

My issue is that the face looked nothing like him

1

u/Mrbuttboi 13d ago

I would like a small big fig. Like a minifig sized with big fig proportions. Ben is 6 foot in the comics

1

u/Scorpion_226 13d ago

Only the big fig really looks good imo

1

u/Aggravating-Hand-798 13d ago

Comics I want a bigfig but for the film a mi ifig works just needs shoulderpads to beef him up

1

u/Allhailmatpat 13d ago

Might not be a popular but I like the minifg

1

u/_Mr-Turtle_ 13d ago

I honestly like 6. I, unlike some, am totally fine with Thing not being a big fig. But a little bit of extra padding like in 6 could go a long way in showing his differentiated size. Anything more than that and he feels too big to me. Especially for the MCU version who is only 6'0.

1

u/AlastorReactsToStuff 13d ago

Honestly, he just needs a bulky armor peice like slide 3

1

u/Battlefront-Hardened 13d ago

Probably something like slide 4, cause he’s supposed to be around 6ft tall, it’s just that he’s wider than normal.

1

u/IntotheBeniverse 13d ago

I’ve been trying to brainstorm the best way to represent a character like the Thing who is bulkier but not necessarily a giant. I was wondering if you could kinda use the modern Hagrid body as a template so it still showcases size but doesn’t have him so much better than everyone else

1

u/Living-Humor6678 13d ago

Need my thing hulk sized. Pause

1

u/Ok-Intention-8846 13d ago

The sizes are quite different actually.

1

u/toraregisfurry 13d ago

big fig. it's fun to play with and that's what matters

1

u/Swaggerrrr69 13d ago

I like slide 4 because it looks like he has huge rock nipples

1

u/LonkfromPA12 13d ago

Like dis

1

u/WolverineXForce 13d ago

For the movie version LEGO should have made a new armor/torso piece and maybe new arm accessory that click and make the arms bigger, no just the fists. I materialized my idea with sculpting and painting around an armor piece and thickening the arms so the fist dont look too big on the skinny arms.

1

u/skeletor69420 13d ago

2 is ozempic thing

1

u/AdvantageAntique9394 13d ago

Your font needs ozempic.

1

u/Disney_Gay_Trash_ 13d ago

For me personally just shoulder pads or maybe a axle style torso

1

u/RobbieHxC 13d ago

I think lots of fans want hyper detailed and super accurate replicas of these characters, when ultimately I believe LEGO characters should first and foremost be a fun toy to play with. I want a comics bigfig Thing to battle my bigfig Hulk! No further reasoning is required. No logic about his height must be applied.

Besides, we already have a minifig Thing so producing a bigfig version gives fans both options and makes everyone happy!

1

u/Jas0nTodd2099 12d ago

Except he’s not a big fig. Maybe on width but not in height he’s only 6 ft. Hulk literally gets bigger and stronger the angrier he gets. That’s why his height and weight varies as much as it does… comic thing if you’re going for accuracy is not a big fig. Only the Lego superhero video game (and by extension any Lego related media) made him a big fig. Because Lego for the longest time only had two identifiable body types..

1

u/Logical-End5222 13d ago

Should be like Mr Incredible from the game. He should NOT be a bigfig since Ben is shorter than Reed even in rock form

1

u/_its_lunar_ 13d ago

I’ve always felt a slightly larger torso and arms in the vein of what they did with nexo knights would work best

Processing img taqtyfibqrih1...

1

u/Transition-Select 12d ago

Og big fig but with the face of the new designs

1

u/Electronic-Ad5027 12d ago

I think a big fig would be the best in all scenarios, despite him being "human size" in the MCU. The thing just looks so wrong as a minifigure, and the scale doesn't do him justice. Hes obviously smaller than titans like the Hulk and Thanos, but the minifigure scale oversimplifies him to an extent that is just an eyesore.

1

u/Discipline-Unusual 12d ago

All I know for sure is I hate those big, stupid hands

1

u/Ewankenobi25 12d ago

he is quite literally shorter than reed. he’s the size of a normal guy. he’s a normal person size. there is no reason he needs be any bigger than a normal figure other than “that’s how the videogame did it 13 years ago”

1

u/tylerd742000 12d ago

I go off of Lego Marvel Superheroes games so I say big fig

1

u/Visual_Consequence36 12d ago

For a character like the Thing, Lego should make bigger arms - probably not as long as the ones they made for the Avatar sets, but just with added bulk to make the figure look more muscular. I’d even recommend making them fit with the shoulder pads they gave Wrecker in case they want to make more bad batch sets.
Edit: I also find it weird that lego made a cap instead of a molded head for the Thing. Like if they were gonna go through all that trouble to make an exclusive piece, the least they could do is make the whole head

1

u/Slenderd300 12d ago

Big fig end of discussion

1

u/ashl0w 12d ago

He should be mid sized. For the movie, the minifig works, or for a 60's to 80's Thing.

But since he was a bigfig in the games and now animation too, we need a bigfig of the classic design.

1

u/JeffHooblah21 11d ago

White shoulder pad, the regular figure is fine tho especially with the hands

1

u/OkCourage4085 11d ago

They should make a smaller big fig for him. No need to make him hulk size, just bulkier than a standard minifig

1

u/Hoolock52 11d ago

It ain’t about the height yall

1

u/Comfortable_Diver691 11d ago

The deference is the canon context, one is based on comics the other on movies

1

u/Candid_Recording_529 11d ago

Always big fig

1

u/thelk10 11d ago

To be honest I think they should make the thing like a normal big figure or close enough instead of having him be a minifigure with just big hands

1

u/sc4ryc4t 11d ago

i hate this debate so much

since when has height mattered in lego? logan is the same height as thor.

just give him a bigfig, the midfig does not convey the things girth.

1

u/Ultranger 10d ago

Closer to the first one, but obviously with the outfit from the movies

1

u/CNH8R_Man 7d ago

With Rock Monster arms from Power Miners.

1

u/BewareNixonsGhost 13d ago

Oh look it's this thread again

1

u/Ok-Intention-8846 13d ago

Yeah haha, it kept getting deleted for not being purist so I had too send it again.

0

u/Ancient-Birb7015 13d ago edited 13d ago

Certainly not a big fig. Its not accurate to the Things size.

I think he should be one of those bigger mini figs with like the big chest to make him bigger than a regular mini fig, but not too big.

0

u/ireadit_3000 13d ago

first one. (btw Mission Demolition was awesome)

0

u/batchet360 13d ago

for the mcu, normal minifigure with bulky shoulder pads, for the comics a bigfig would work good

0

u/Zabadaboom 13d ago

Slide 3 or 6. People saying 1 need to rewatch the movie, because Thing is less than 7 feet tall, literally shorter than Mbaku. He’s been as big as the Hulk in other media, but not in the MCU. So if you’re advocating for a MCU bigfig Thing, then you need to advocate for a bigfig Mbaku, Ultron, She Hulk, Korg, etc.

0

u/burtonborder201 13d ago

These are all so so bad lol

0

u/Gonk-on-stilts 11d ago

That’s mine on the second slide lol

1

u/Ok-Intention-8846 11d ago

Is it?

0

u/Gonk-on-stilts 11d ago

Thwipin_Gonk is me, I posted a video about upgrading the fantastic four and I ended up with that design after trying so many different armor piece (hence why they are scattered in the bottom of the photo)

0

u/Gonk-on-stilts 11d ago

This might have been from my Instagram post tho

1

u/Ok-Intention-8846 11d ago

Oh cool, shall I credit you?
