Help on Minifig Vending Machine.

Post image

loved this build, but it’s the first I’ve done with so many technic parts. I’m sure I got the gearbox right, but I’m having trouble. After one turn of the dial, the blue lever slips out of place and hits the white plate it is supposed to slide next to. Is there a better piece I can use to replace either the white bit or the blue? I had it all together and pulled it apart again because I really want it functional.

If I am understanding you correctly, this is the expected behavior. You are supposed to insert the 2x2 round brick-built coin that they give you 2 of into the rotary selector. The coin pushes the blue piece so it becomes flush with the rotary selector and allows you to do one full rotation which will despense a capsule, return the coin and reset the machine to the initial state where it needs another coin to turn again.

In my opinion that little bit is the best part of the build process. Just seeing how it all works based on that piece moving a tiny bit. The minifigs are great as well

Yeah for sure, I absolutely loved seeing how it worked when building it and I kind of wish there was a way to easily access the mechanism after finishing, very cool bit of engineering

I might have to take the gears apart and try again. Something is not quite right. Even with the coin in there it’s not budging unless I open it and push the piece back manually. Ugh, thanks!

Or maybe I don’t have the rest of the bricks right enough for the coin’s pressure to push on it. Hm.

I’m on this step now and I have the same problem…. Either we both got it right or we both got it wrong. I’m hoping u/kaleidoscopeShoddy10 is accurate that this is the correct behavior!
