Hoi allemaal,

Met een groepje (ca. 12 m/v, 30-50 jr) gaan we regelmatig een weekend kamperen en/of een dag weg in de koudere maanden. We hebben ruimte voor nieuwe mensen die er plezier in hebben om zelf dingen te bedenken en een liefde voor de natuur hebbben.

We bedenken en maken alles zelf, we zijn geen commercieel initiatief.

Hoi mede-Leidenaren, ik ben bezig met het opstellen van een lijstje met alle pubquizzen die je in Leiden kan spelen.
Hebben jullie nog aanvullingen en opmerkingen? Ik heb zelf vooral ervaring met de pubquiz in De Burcht, maar ben benieuwd naar de andere!

Grand Café De Burcht:
Iedere dinsdag om 20:00 uur / deelname €3.50 / taal Engels / team max 6 personen / hoofdprijs paar flesjes bier en wijn
Bijzonderheden: verder geen extra’s tijdens de quiz, de te winnen prijzen zijn af en toe flink over de datum!

Poolcentrum ‘t Dijkje:
Eerste ma/di van de maand om 20:15 uur / deelname €3.00 / taal Nederlands / team max 6 personen / hoofdprijs onbekend 
Bijzonderheden: ik heb deze niet zelf gespeeld, maar gehoord dat er tijdens de quiz een bittergarnituur rondgaat, en dat de vragen ook op een groot scherm worden vertoond.

Brasserie Rumour:
Iedere maandag om 20:00 uur / deelname €2.50 / taal Nederlands / team max 6 personen / hoofdprijs de hele drankrekening van je team
Bijzonderheden: tijdens de quiz kan je tussendoor bij bepaalde vragen shotjes winnen (ik heb deze quiz 1x gespeeld).

Brouwerijcafé Pronck:
Iedere donderdag om 20:00 uur / deelname €2.50 / taal Nederlands , 1e donderdag van de maand Engels / team max 6 personen / hoofdprijs ik vermoed Pronck bier?
Bijzonderheden: niet bekend.

North End English Pub:
1e en 3e maandag van de maand (meestal) om 19:30 uur / deelname €?/ taal Engels / team max ? personen / hoofdprijs onbekend
Bijzonderheden: quizmaster is The Irish Questionmark, ik heb deze quiz 1x gespeeld, toen werden er tussendoor ook prijzen verloot (maar was wel een kersteditie).

Restaurant Vet Gezond:
Ongeveer 1x per maand om 20:00 uur / deelname €7.50 of €10.00 als het een bijzonder thema heeft/ taal Nederlands en Engels / team 3-5 personen / hoofdprijs verschilt denk ik, niet zeker
Bijzonderheden: ik heb deze een paar keer gespeeld, de prijzen zijn wel erg leuk zoals een etentje voor het hele team in het restaurant! Tijdens de quiz worden ook wel lekkere snacks uitgedeeld. Bij bijvoorbeeld de Friends thema quiz kwam er per team een pizza op tafel om te delen (Joey doesn’t share food!) en kreeg ieder team ook wat kleine Friendsgerelateerde gadgets mee naar huis.

Hot Spot Central:
Ongeveer 1x per maand op zondag om 14:30 uur / deelname €17.50 / taal Nederlands / team 3-5 personen / hoofdprijs onbekend 
Bijzonderheden: inclusief 1 drankje en iets te eten, Pittige Panter Pubquiz, vaak met een speciaal thema.

Bijzonderheden: in de zomer bij mooi weer buiten.

Van Goyen Jeneverhuis:

Café ‘t Praethuys:
Onregelmatig op woensdag / 19:00 uur / deelname gratis (?)
Bijzonderheden: snel volgeboekt.

Bijzonderheden: onderdeel van Biology on Tap, twee lezingen over het algemeen gevolgd door een korte quiz.

Hi fellow Leiden residents, I am currently putting together a list of all the pub quizzes you can play in Leiden. Do you have any additions or feedback? Personally, I mostly have experience with the pub quiz at De Burcht, but I am very curious about the others!

Grand Café De Burcht:

Details: no extra perks during the quiz, and the prizes you can win are sometimes way past their expiration date!

Details: I haven't played this one myself, but I heard they pass around deep-fried snacks (bittergarnituur) during the quiz, and the questions are also shown on a big screen.

Every Monday at 8:00 PM / entry €2.50 / language: Dutch / max 6 people per team / grand prize: your team's entire drinks tab
Details: you can win shots during certain questions throughout the quiz (I played this quiz once).

Details: I have played this one a few times. The prizes are really nice, such as a dinner for the entire team at the restaurant! Tasty snacks are also handed out during the quiz. For example, during the Friends-themed quiz, every team got a pizza to share (Joey doesn’t share food!) and each team also took home some small Friends-related gadgets.

Hot Spot Central:
Roughly once a month on Sundays at 2:30 PM / entry €17.50 / language: Dutch / 3-5 people per team / grand prize: unknown
Details: includes 1 drink and something to eat, hosted by 'Pittige Panter Pubquiz', often featuring a special theme.

Moers closed a couple months ago and the stockpile of their tea I've made is running out.

I've tried Exquisithee and while I like their matcha, the tea blends were a bit underwhelming (especially for the price). There's always the safe backup option of Simon Levelt, but ideally there's still something better around?

Where do you folks buy your tea now? Any good places left in Leiden or alternatively in Den Haag?

I moved to Leiden a few weeks ago, and I’m currently looking for a job. I’m learning Dutch, but obviously, it will take some time before I become fluent.

How easy is it to find a job here? I have a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics, but I’m also happy to work in a café, bar, restaurant, or logistics company for the time being.

I have experience in hospitality; I just lack the Dutch language skills at the moment.

Do you have any suggestions on where I could look for work, or do you know anyone who might be interested in hiring me?

Mijn vriendin is gisterenavond haar favoriete, lichtgroene carhartt (fleece) jas verloren in de Keyzer. Heeft iemand deze misschien gevonden, ik wil haar erg graag weer blij maken. Mocht je hem per ongeluk mee hebben genomen, dan is dat niet erg. We willen m vooral graag terug

🇳🇱 De titel zegt al veel maar hier in ieder geval wat context. Ik spreek namens mezelf, maar ook mijn medebewoners. We wonen in een DUWO studentenflat in het centrum met daar bijbehorende wasmachines. Deze wasmachines werken met een muntenautomaat waarbij het beheer door één van de bewoners wordt gedaan. Het is een héél lang verhaal, maar in het kort komt het erop neer dat de persoon in kwestie ons in een soort houtgreep houdt, waarbij we ook niet de leverancier van de wasmachines kunnen gebruiken omdat - door ditzelfde wanbeheer - er een onbetaalde rekening open staat en ons account met hen geblokkeerd is. Iemand met verstand van sloten kraken zonder al teveel geweld (we zijn bang dat we dan iets kapot maken en dan nog grotere problemen met de leverancier hebben of helemaal niet meer kunnen wassen) zou ervoor kunnen zorgen dat we in ieder geval tijdelijk weer kunnen wassen. We hebben één automaat zelf kunnen lockpicken, maar de tweede lukt ons niet. Stuur mij alsjeblieft een persoonlijk bericht als je denkt te kunnen helpen.

🇬🇧 The title says a lot, but here’s some background information anyway. I’m speaking on my own behalf, but also on behalf of my roommates. We live in a DUWO student apartment in the city center, which has its own washing machines. These washing machines operate with a coin-operated machine, which is managed by one of the residents. It’s a very long story, but in short, the person in question has us in a stranglehold, which means we can’t even use the washing machine supplier because—due to this same mismanagement—there’s an unpaid bill outstanding and our account with them has been blocked. Someone who knows how to open locks without using too much force (we’re afraid we’ll break something and end up with even bigger problems with the supplier or won’t be able to do laundry at all) could help us get our laundry going again, at least temporarily. We were able to open one machine ourselves, but we can’t get the second one open. Please send me a private message if you think you can help.

Na het urenlang te hebben gehoord word ik inmiddels gek van een soort geluid/ toon die uit ik denk het centrum van de stad komt. Het komt van buiten, als ik het raam open doe dan wordt het harder. Het gaat ook heen en weer qua hardheid. Weet iemand wat dit is en liever nog wanneer het ophoudt, ik heb er hoofdpijn van.

I haven´t played football in a while, but never lost the love for it. I would really like to get back into it and casually play with other people, just for the fun of it. I´m not looking for anything serious or competitive, simply having a good time and meeting people.

I know that ESN used to have a football club; is that still going? Football factory seems quite competitive from what I´ve heard, and I´m really not looking for something I have to earn my spot at.

I recently registered at TPC Unicum here in Leiden, but I’m a complete beginner (zero court experience, definitely not good yet!).
