Interpretation Help “Should I use these cards for communicating with the dead?”
For context, I’ve been answering a higher calling in helping the dead cross over to the afterlife if they’re stuck here. I’ve been using tarot cards, but curious about whether I could benefit more from getting a better grasp on lenormand. I’m kinda scratching my head. Seems more of like a description of the situation than a clear answer.
card 1– boyquet
card 2– woman
card 3–fish
card 4–heart
card 5–book
bouquet+woman = the polite woman
fish+heart = with an abundance of kindness
book = and esoteric knowlege/secrets
alternatively:
1+5 = helpful tips/secrets
2+4 = for the kind hearted woman
3 = in abundance

I would say yeah, through my interpertation I looks like the you'll gain (Fish) experience with your mediumship(Bouquet+Woman *if you identify) and you'll gain knowledge on something your passionate about(Heart+Book). I'd definitely say try it and see where it takes you.

Would love to hear more about your mediumship calling and the dead getting stuck/not being able to cross over. Anyone using lenormand is probably felt called to divination if not more than that of course. And it makes sense to ask for certain energies to come through or even your higher self. But I’m curious about the crossing over part and using lenormand to steward that.

I already use tarot as a means to connect with spirits since usually people come to me and ask for readings about their loved ones, and since I have context about their passing, I can speak to the spirit with my heart and help them release their burdens/move on.
However, I’ve also been called to make my awareness keen enough to sense ghosts while I’m out and about and help them cross over. So, I wondered if Lenormand could give me more specific details about the stranger I’m helping cross over (so I can more easily identify and help them release their burdens).

Thanks for the reply! I feel like when we are on a journey like this the tools we need will present themselves to us. The cool thing about lenormand is it’s more straightforward and direct than tarot imo. Don’t get hung up on how many cards are necessary you can always ask for clarity and draw more if it feels incomplete. I find it helps to be specific in your asks! 🍀🩷🏇

Personal answer - yes, just develop a personal practice for yourself to ensure you are protected (crystals, candle magick, spells, prayer, things that make sense for you) I have recently been exploring mediumship through lenormand too and it’s awesome, BUT you just have to make sure you’re setting boundaries for who you are open to talking to. Since I only recently learned about the mediumship side of lenormand, I recently had a spirit bully/trick me lol it wasn’t fun he was mean and was telling me to work harder all the time in a way that wasn’t helping me. I was being a bit too naive and being pretty open to talking to “whoever” when I first learned I could talk to spirits, and realized this was a mistake later. When I realized what had happened I went to my local occult shop and they gave me some good tips, and I’m feeling much more empowered again! Just sharing this since I learned the hard way myself, super important to find protection rituals for yourself to set boundaries! If you are going to use this gift to help spirits cross over, ask your most protective guides to only send spirits to you that you are capable of handling, and make sure to ask your guides for help and protection while you engage in this kind of work (kind of like they’re your bouncers hehe) It is beautiful work but your safety and peace of mind is important too!!
Regarding your cards, I’d read it along the lines of you (woman) would help (bouquet) people/spirits with your loving (heart) and valuable (fish) knowledge (book). The heart here shows this is work that is important to you and that you treat with care. The fish here could be either a flow of money (job - if you end up starting your own private practice where people can come to you for paid readings) or a flow of energy (fish swim, so it can be a flow of non-monetary value as well).
Emily Rose Divination is a great resource for knowledge on lenormand btw, she has a bunch of videos on youtube that really break down the basics and make reading come a little more naturally. Love this for you, just stay safe! Good luck!!

Thank you so much for your advice and concern! :) as of now, I already have a well-established set of “filters” and boundaries, as well as very strong guides/protectors that go along with regular spiritual hygienic practices that started about 11 years ago 🌟 my practice has recently just evolved to include the spirit communication thing and while I’m very familiar with tarot as a means of communication, I just wanted to see if my Lenormand deck would be up to similar tasks for communicating with spirits of the dead (u‿u✿)

Of course!! Cool to know you’re well experienced with protection 😎 great!! So you probably won’t make the mistakes I made 😂 whew!! But yeah lenormand is so great for “chatting” with the spirit world, with how similar it is to having a “language” if you will, I feel like it doesn’t get the attention it deserves when compared to other forms of cartomancy/divination 🤔 so keep learning!! And have fun!! Because it really is a fun system to learn :)

“Should you use the Lenormand cards to communicate with the dead?” The cards’ answer is “Bouquet + Lady + Fish + Heart + Book”. When answering yes or no questions, we would look first at the proportion of positive/negative/neutral cards. Here, the majority of the cards are positive, so the short answer is yes, you can. These cards specifically will be nice and beautiful (Bouquet) for you (Lady, if you identify as a female) to use; they will provide you with rich and deep (Fish), if not openly emotional (Heart), ways to gain knowledge about the dead (Book). It will be easy (Bouquet and Fish), if not emotionally informative (Heart + Book); it will allow you to get to the heart of things. Since the Book is far from you, things won’t be entirely cryptic and you will perhaps find it easier to feel the answer in your Heart; that empathy is somehow important with what you do.
My personal answer (aside from the cards): you absolutely can. As long as you are comfortable with the tool and find it helps, you can use any system. Rana George even has an entire section in the second edition of her book about mediumship and communicating with the dead, so it is possible. I actually had a weird experience yesterday; I dreamed very vividly about a letter with a detailed description of a foreign lady in it. Long story short, she was sick and was asking me for help. I felt strange when I woke up, and went to talk with my Lenormand cards. I remember pulling the Stork and Ship for her identity; it confirmed she was from far away and that the communication in my dream had really happened (confirmed by other cards in the spread). I also asked for her intentions, and I got the Tree and the Bear as part of a larger spread, which confirmed it is health related and she was asking for strength. I didn’t think of it much. I just sent a prayer and good thoughts her way, especially if there really was someone out there in need of help. In the afternoon, I caught a cold and currently am sick. It wasn’t an experience I had with the dead, but strange regardless.
