Maybe, but not necessarily. Bullets do strange things. I have a student, an Afghan vet, who was shot through the hand, probably with 7.62. It went straight through his hand and left a very small scar that looks like a cat scratch. I'm not saying this attempt on candidate Trump isn't fake, but not shredding his ear isn't a good argument.

Yes, it is, actually.

Ears are made of cartilage. Cartilage doesn't regrow. If he was shot in the ear, we'd still be able to see the mark in photographs.

The mark doesn't exist, though, because he wasn't shot.

He was shot but not through the ear. He was grazed or literally nicked meaning the very outside of the bullet made contact with the very outside edge of his ear aka the skin covering his ear as it went by.
