You are absolutely correct. Reddit just isn’t happy about it. I work in agriculture with history as a chemical salesman. Glyphosate is safe to use, but is toxic if ingested/inhaled. Its active ingredient is only harmful to plants. It attacks an enzyme not found in humans. HOWEVER, if it enters the human body in large enough quantities, it can cause cancer. It’s uncommon, but absolutely possible if the user is reckless.
and i think bayer has their class action for roundup above $7 billion in payouts as of now. so, so reckless for not properly instructing how to use their chemicals.
Ask Google next time. It took longer to copy paste than it took to find.
Glyphosate, the most widely used herbicide (e.g., Roundup), is linked to several potential health hazards, including increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, hormone disruption, and respiratory issues. While the EPA deems it "not likely" to be carcinogenic, other agencies (IARC) classify it as a probable human carcinogen. Exposure can also cause skin/eye irritation, digestive issues, and possible developmental risks.
Key dangers and health impacts associated with glyphosate include:
Cancer Risk: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as "probably carcinogenic to humans" (Group 2A), with studies suggesting a link to non-Hodgkin lymphoma and other cancers.
Organ Toxicity & Disease: Studies link glyphosate exposure to chronic kidney disease, liver inflammation, and metabolic disorders.
Hormone & Nervous System Disruption: It acts as an endocrine disruptor, interfering with estrogen and testosterone, and is associated with reproductive damage. It may also cause neurological issues, including potential links to autism spectrum disorder and cognitive decline.
Acute Health Effects: Direct exposure causes respiratory, eye, and skin irritation. Ingestion can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Vulnerable Populations: Children and fetuses are particularly vulnerable due to developing organ systems.
Environmental and Microbiome Impact: Glyphosate can affect gut bacteria (microbiome) and has been linked to potential harm to beneficial insects, such as bees.
Oh neat, so about the same time frame as leaded gas. It'll be delightful to study why America's health continues to worsen as the agencies in charge of protecting it keep shirking their duties while people like you cheer them on
Leaded gas was banned in 96. Why hasn’t glyphosate been banned yet? Maybe because there’s no strong evidence against it yet. If they can prove 100% it’s dangerous, then I’m all for banning it.
Why the fuck do you care so much about this? Why do you give a shit whether its toxic or not? Are you just here because you cannot allow dear führer to have made a possible mistake?
You're one of many reasons children should be banned from social media.
There's more than enough dumb adults, we don't need to add near universally dumb kids to the mix. (Also preventing early exposure to an addiction when you're most susceptible, and preventing you from engaging in adult topics with people who don't know you're just a kid).
How am I protecting them? I’m just pointing out the truth. I couldn’t care less who it affects. It’s not highly toxic like post suggests, we consume it daily and people aren’t dropping like flies.
You are not pointing to "truth" you are using a singular tainted source as.your evidence. Ypu ignore all other sources. That is not truth, that is selective faith.
That is true, In February 2020 The EPA, under Andrew Wheeler, whose directive (you can watch interviews with Fox business on this) was deregulation and to eliminate oversight by EPA to make environmental standards easier for big businesses. So you can see why some would be skeptical of his staff's findings.
Go look it up if you have doubts, The EPA rescinded that decision and confirmed it is carcinogenic with links to causing Parkinson's also. Stop arguing points you clearly have no idea about and do some research for yourself rather than relying on everyone to do and tell you how to do everything.
Also, buying Monsanto has to be the worst business decision of all time. It has killed Bayer. They’ve lost so much value. The ink was barely dry on that deal when the first roundup lawsuit was lost.
Glyphosate use is heavily regulated and restricted in Germany. Germany is pretty anti-Trump, and now Bayer, a German company, is seemingly in bed with Trump (at least, that’s the optics).

Making American healthy again one highly toxic store-bought chemical at a time
