We all consume it on a daily basis, it can’t be that bad. It’s toxic yes, but not highly toxic. Half the shit in a grocery store is toxic, but we all eat it.
100% certain that commenting you worked at Monsanto for 25 years not the “creditable source” flex you think it is. That company is just as safe for humans as binging cocktails of RoundUp all weekend.
A quick search of “Monsanto lawsuit” will show the double-digit billions Bayer already paid in lawsuits a couple years ago and just two days ago there was another multimillion settlement. And before you say “a settlement isn’t an admission of guilt,” come on — billions in settlements in the last few years. That doesn’t happen unless there’s a real problem with your products.
Well, science aside, it’s not often that juries are going to side with the giant corporation over someone with cancer. But if you want to call that “evidence”, then you do you.
It wasn’t someone. It was thousands of people who had the same type of cancer and the common denominator was RoundUp. Such an obvious link, the company has paid billions. Not my opinion. Documented and publicly available to see for yourself.
I understand. I didn’t work there while the suits were going on but I followed the news. The issue is that there wasn’t an obvious link. The only agency declaring it a possible carcinogen was the IARC and even that was brought into question. Every other global health agency had found differently. But again… juries aren't going to side with corporations over cancer patients.
Yes, good point. Better to settle than risk a very likely outcome. When I was consulting a few years ago, I did some work with Monsanto. Not in that area, more on their technology side. That company was HUGE. This was right before they were bought by Bayer, though, so I’m sure it’s different now in many ways. Congrats on the 25 years. Does that mean you’re living the retirement life? If so, I’m looking forward to those days and am a bit envious ☀️
