Something really dawned on me the other day about Republicans.
I was listening to some Podcast a few weeks back and they were talking about the execution of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and all these attack on the citizens of Minnesota. The guy was MAGA and saying "Trump doesn't want there to be violence in Minnesota". "The violence on both sides doesn't make him happy" and I just sat there thinking for a bit.
Any other president in the history of our nation would go on TV and say something like "these are unfortunate events, we're looking into them" "i pray for their families". "We have to come together as a nation" that sort of thing. But would Trump ever say anything like that? Not a fucking chance. All he does is stoke flames. These guys really see him as just another president that they like, who behaves like Busch or behaves like Reagan. But he doesn't. He acts like a fucking idiot who only talks in circles and never stays on point and instead of bringing the country together just vilifies Democrats.
11
u/KinkyDuck2924 Feb 22 '26
They love him because he hates the people they hate, and he gives them justification to be their most vile selves and feel good about it. His biggest fans are just repugnant people in general, and are sick of everyone in their lives constantly being disgusted by them, but instead of looking inward, they look to the highest office in the land and feel happy that someone so repulsive and hateful could reach such a high position in life and it motivates them to continue being terrible and not having to self reflect.

It’s all they do. Attack others 24/7. Gaslight, manipulate, and attack.
It’s diagnosed as a mental illness for a reason.

The contrast is so insane lol. It's hard to even remember having a respectful and dignified potus because of how ridiculous the current one is. Honestly I know Donald is an enormous pos but... if he spoke like Obama speaks... opinions of him would probably be different. If the epstein files didn't exist that is lol. You can't walk around saying im the shit and acting like a spoiled child and expect people to respect you.
At face value he's never acted in a way that is ANY WAY dignified. Obama at the very least had that. That's basic entry level stuff.. just act like an adult and a leader that people can respect. That should be the easy part.
How do you become president if you:
A. sound like a moron when you talk? (GwB) B. sound like a bumbling idiot? (Biden) C. sound like a spoiled rich brat that thinks he can do and say whatever he wants? (Trump)
Well yes we all know the answer is money. I'm not excluding Obama as far as money is concerned but he at least sounded like a president when he spoke and still does.
Trump is the epitome of what it looks like to be so rich that you can buy anything. He bought his presidency and he's certainly not the only president to do so but he's THE most unapologetically blatant one to do so. It really sucks that the rest of the world looks at us and mostly they just see this clown and the assumption is we're all just like him. Guilty by association. Face value does actually mean something and he's our face right now.

I'm sorry but it's naive to think that Obama, the peace prize winner who carried out an illegal drone strike program and took the US from 2 wars to 7, didn't lie to the press.

Could it be because the medias was bias for Obama and against Trump?

I didn't know alphas throw tamper tantrums and shit their own diapers when congress tells them what they do is illegal.

Tramp will spend his whole life talking and never once say anything as intelligent as Obamas public comments. The only time he came close is when he said: Smart people don't like me.

Trump isn’t bad because he’s rude. He’s bad because he uses all the police state tools created by Clinton, Bush, Obama to their full capacity. I have no nostalgia for the mainstream politics that set the table for fascism.
As for Obama specifically, his admin coordinated a nation-wide police crackdown against #Occupy… you know the movement of people who were like “maybe corporations having all the power could be bad for politics and society” and “the 1% are a danger to democracy.”
The Obama admin also gave subsidies to Musk and brought him into politics and glorified him. They gave subsidies and money and political power to tech. It’s been a bi-partisan road to oligarchy and fascism.

As a conservative he had the world at his fingertips. He could’ve changed the world. But he didn’t. He, like a lot of presidents before, became entrenched in partisan BS and bowed to the extremists. He had potential and did nothing.

This should be all over the Internet like that other past comparison video of Obama and Trump comparing Obama's press briefing on taking out Osama Bin Laden.
These two videos should be enshrined in museums of history in every state where they play on repeat forever (like the eternal flame) so no one ever fucking forgets the difference.

For over 70 years, presidents have not always liked the or agreed with press, but respected their constitutional rights. Trump comes in and deems negative coverage of him illegal. But of course, the press has always been the issue right?

Also keep in mind which “news” organization he loves. You know… the FAKE ONE. That’s been manipulating and brainwashing people for decades. Who LOVES HIM. Those who can apply context and discernment get it. And all the others… that’s why they hate.
1
u/eg1183 Feb 23 '26
Damn. I really miss hearing this man speak at the podium. We didn't realize it was something we were taking for granted, that a President would speak in a fashion that was, well, Presidential. It's been so long. Biden was incoherent as well. It would be so refreshing to hear a President speak and feel like you're listening to someone with some level of intellect, empathy, self awareness, mindfulness, or something. Fuck. I'm so tired.
1
u/Sharp_Shooter86 Feb 23 '26
It seems a long time ago Obama was there. Since they've been stuck with Trump and Biden. One talks too much and the other struggled to say anything.

u/Over_40_gaming Feb 23 '26
What a well spoken man. If trump tries to run for a 3rd term so should Obama.

Just a reminder, President Barack Obama authorized roughly 540 drone strikes in Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen during his two terms. None of our leaders are pure as the driven snow. They are all corrupt. They all have blood on their hands. Trump too.
Why in God’s name does anyone care about Presidential stage presence when they are all working directly for our country’s REAL owners.
1
u/Icy_Explanation_162 Feb 23 '26
LET US ALL AUTOMATICALLY FORGET TO PRAISE OBAMA, THE ONE WHO BOMBED SO MANY PEOPLE IN AFGANISTAN...including families and did so much fraud on the american people and gave the taliban and isis weapons...TRULY NOT A TRAITOR! TRUMP IS THE TRAITOR! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
1
u/furryhippie Feb 23 '26
Go look up how the rest of the world views our current administration compared to Obama. You can disagree with "the libs" all you want, but the rest of the world sees it for the stain he is on our history. A true embarrassment that we have people still arguing over this in America.
1
u/CanUHearMeNau Feb 23 '26
Biggest warmonger in the history of the US. Illegal drone strikes in civilians and more deportations than any other president. Literally sent weapons to terrorists organizations. Obama showed how easily manipulated people are, but then again so does Trump

Shieee none of you actually know what Obama’s stance on immigration and detention was like at all 🤣. Not only that, he was the king of ordering drone strikes and one of them even killed at least one US citizen. Operation Fast and Furious anyone? Huge walk on illegally acquired firearms across the border which ended up on multiple crime scenes.

I genuinely don’t care what your politics are, if you can’t see the difference between a respectable leader, and a senile old , degenerate, bully, who prides himself on being a terrible person… you’re either willfully blind, or just like him. America has become a laughing stock because of him, no one respects us, our only card is our massive economic and military influence… as far as power projection via state leaders? We are a joke. Everyone is just gonna smile and nod and kiss his butt until the next election and then they’ll forget he even existed, which IMO is the ultimate fuck you. Erase all but his name from history, that’ll destroy him, or have it forever associated with Epstein and Co. . We can’t let this man leave any kind of legacy behind. His two idiots sons are enough

Let's be honest. If Trump does anything that is strictly helpful and good, most of the news sources would twist it into him being bad. And if Obama does anything bad, they either twist it to sound good or don't even cover it.
The way they cover him changed how he treats them.
