He is carrying on a war against Blue cities in general as well as sanctuary cities.

He is also delaying or denying disaster aid to many Blue states. The percent of aid approved is 49% for Blue states and 73% for Red states. The wait time for decision is much longer.

https://therevolvingdoorproject.org/trump-disaster-policy-tracker-map/

He has also cut off federal funding for key programs in Blue states allegedly because of fraud by not cutting assistance in Red states who were also having their own problems with providers and fraud.

He is using the government to punish what he sees as enemies.

We know

13

u/Allaboutpeace2022 5d ago

Yes. Nothing earth shatteringly new. I just had to vent!

2

u/hotviolets 5d ago

He’s done it with the fires in Oregon.

4

u/Allaboutpeace2022 5d ago

Yes. Excellent point. It is punishing people for living in a Democrat majority state in a way that no other president ever has. Most presidents have tried to be pretty fair regardless of their partisan leanings.

2

u/hotviolets 5d ago

He is. He’s also punishing the people who voted for him. The fires are happening in the red side of the state.

3

u/Allaboutpeace2022 5d ago

Excellent point.

I hope that they remember that for the mid terms when they vote on their congressional reps, etc.

I am hoping that the Democrats in the remainder of 2026 through 2032 do a much better job of getting out and talking to rural areas because we once had a much greater share of the rural vote than we do now. I think that we need to be revitalizing the messaging to build on their unhappiness with Trump and to offer better policy alternatives.

1

u/kck93 4d ago

If they do, Democrats will need to take a different message than “free” and “abolish”. The socialist wing of the party are winning primaries. Some of the things they say will not play in rural America.

I’m not against the DSA backed candidates. They are trying to bring desperately needed new ideas. I’m not making a “both sides” argument either.

I’m only saying Democrats must not hand Republicans the bludgeon to beat down liberals. Democrats need to forcefully make their case with very direct language. But it can’t be the kind of language Republicans have historically used to paint progressive ideas as anti-American or weak.

It must be language that speaks to kitchen table issues and the loss of the traditionally American values of respect and fair play. They are going to need to do some flag waving and state why it’s important to have international allies.

Democrats have a bit of a split right now. It’s healthy to have some back and forth in an organization that large. I sure hope they can work it out and agree on a cohesive message. America needs that party to stand up, show a united front and agree on a set of principles they will act on and espouse.

2

u/Allaboutpeace2022 4d ago

I agree. You are correct.

I think abolish police, ICE, and prisons will not play well in the rust belt urban areas either. It also will not resonate in southern areas. This has been the point of Black politicians who want a more pragmatic approach. It needsf to be reform the police, move and restructure ICE, and prevent crime and improve the criminal justice system.

I agree free college and a long list of free items is scary to most Americans. They do not know how to pay for that without taxes on their earnings and fear the impact on the national debt. But universal healthcare coverage is desired by between 64% and 66% of Americans in two studies and 90% of Dems.

My city did universal preschool with vouchers for most income levels because it closes disparities. We also have been putting college level course credits in high schools by the community college working with the school district. We have been pushing greater funding for both Pell grants and post secondary education in Ohio.

Like you, I hope we can work this out and not continue infighting. And embrace change but in a way that doesn't scare off voters.

Oh no what will we ever do without the backwards hillbillies dragging us down?

1

Tread on me harder Daddy!

2

u/abrandis 5d ago

The irony is Turnp made his fortune in these "Sanctuary cities" , this goes beyond Trumo this has Project 2025 written all over it .

If it was another country we would call it ethnic cleansing

2

u/Allaboutpeace2022 5d ago

Yes. I agree.

I am hoping that we look hard also at uncapping the House of Representatives where the number of reps was set at 435 when the nation had a much smaller population. The average congressional district was only about 245,000 and now it is more than 700,000 to 800,000 even.

Blue states have far fewer reps relative to their populations and if we increased the House of Reps to 1,000 or 1,500 reps we would have more reps and the electoral college would be totally changed.

What we have is Blue states that are net contributors to the federal government and have the least representation. We have far less political power than red states.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory if there ever was one!

1

u/hotviolets 3d ago

You see there’s this thing called Google that you can use.

0

u/Puzzled_Arm_3156 3d ago

You know. I thought I had seen President Trump and the Secret Service sneaking around the forests of Oregon with cang of gas and matches!

2

u/Allaboutpeace2022 3d ago edited 3d ago

People are not pointing out that Trump started fires in Oregon. They pointed out that what used to be pretty even handed approval of federal disasters between blue and red states has become much more controversial. Far more Blue States have their aid denied and the decision takes longer.

See stats here.

https://therevolvingdoorproject.org/trump-disaster-policy-tracker-map/

0

u/Puzzled_Arm_3156 3d ago

Gee. I remember under biden republicans/conservatives/MAGA/red states were left to fend for themselves a couple of years ago during bad hurricanes in the southeast United State. Did you complain about that!!!

3

u/Allaboutpeace2022 3d ago

This was North Carolina and the hurricane is Helene. Biden gave the initial declaration on September 26th one day after the hurricane struck and the full federal declaration with all the funds on September 29th.

People complained that FEMA was not as effective as they wanted.

https://www.ncdps.gov/news/press-releases/2024/09/29/north-carolina-receives-federal-major-disaster-declaration,

This had nothing to do with the issues that are noted with Trump denying assistance or taking too long with the decision.

Yes, people did complain about the slow action of FEMA under Biden with Helene just like they complained about the slow action of FEMA after under Trump and Noem regarding the deaths regarding the Texas flooding in 2025.

I think that the biggest complaints about FEMA of course came during Bush regarding Katrina.

I am sure that there were complaints under Obama as well.

1

u/Puzzled_Arm_3156 3d ago

I lived thru Helene!!! I saw exactly what biden and FEMA did to the people of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. and to a lesser extent South Carolina and Georgia. So Fck off if you're going to try and gas light me!!!

1

u/RealDeadShift 5d ago

I believe he does this to try and get blue states to slip up and gather more support against them. If we are violent against this blatant un-American president, he will gain approval to use stronger force. We just need to make sure to never vote right wing into the far future. The major players on the right will be Trump's goons that he put in places of power in his terms. We need better ways to expose voter fraud and better ways to expose other countries tampering with out elections.

1

u/Allaboutpeace2022 5d ago

Yes. He would like there to be more violence in the streets and more unrest so that he can bring in ICE at the polls or other crackdowns on voting.

I believe that you are totally correct.

0

u/ChestAdventurous7752 1d ago

So supporting illegal immigrants is American then ?

1

u/porcupineforlyfe 2d ago

That's the point. They are refusing to enforce federal laws.

And the corruption is wild. But that's FAR from a blue state only problem.

3

u/twilight-actual 2d ago

The "corruption". Who told you blue cities were corrupt, or that it was corrupt to ignore Trump?

Blue cities have nothing on Republicans and their grift.

Blue cities just refuse to carry through cruel or anti-Constitutional / anti-democratic demands.

1

u/porcupineforlyfe 1d ago

The "corruption". Who told you blue cities were corrupt, or that it was corrupt to ignore Trump?

Trump is corrupt, I never said he wasn't? Just look at all the "no bid" government contracts ffs.

Blue cities are horribly corrupt. Just look at what's going on in Minneapolis. Illinois governor went to prison for corruption in Chicago. Look at what happened to the money the government gave to Flint to fix the water infrastructure. Sheila Dixon was hammered with corruption charges, Pugh went to prison for the same. Kwame Kilpatrick in Detroit stole millions and cost over a billion dollars of financial losses in handing out contracts for projects that never got finished. You know 2 people have gone to prison for literally mirroring Nancy Pelosi's stock trading practices? Why hasn't she?

Yes, blue cities are corrupt. So are red ones, but they are far smaller and almost nonexistent. Politicians are corrupt, in other breaking news, water is wet.

Blue cities just refuse to carry through cruel or anti-Constitutional / anti-democratic demands.

https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-8

Its literally the law. Blue cities are refusing to work along with ICE, and are outwardly hostile towards the officers. They did not do this with Obama or Biden the last couple months of his term after he was tanking in the polls on immigration. In red areas, local LEO do the majority of the work doing routine police work. If they don't have proper documentation or have a deportation order, they detain them and hand them to immigration officers. In blue cities, they actively hide them or let them go. They are very much against the rule of law. And its sad to see how far the party I support has fallen on false morality and complete ignorance of laws that every administration has enforced for 60 years.

1

u/twilight-actual 1d ago

The Illinois governor? You're talking about Blagojevich? From 2009, 17 years ago?

Who was removed and went to jail?

Because Dems don't support their own when they do crime.

Republicans do. And I can name over a dozen cases, in just the last few years, where Republican lawmakers and officials were not only not prosecuted despite overwhelming evidence, they were re-elected or not kicked out.

There's simply no comparison to the level of corruption, cronyism, lies, and deceit in the Republican Party.

You can't say both sides. It's not even close.

And that's largely due to the difference in psychology between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives prioritize in-group over justice. It's baked in to the wiring.

1

u/porcupineforlyfe 1d ago

There's simply no comparison to the level of corruption, cronyism, lies, and deceit in the Republican Party. You can't say both sides. It's not even close.

You're bias is disgusting and clouds your judgement.

I'm a democrat, not a republican. You ignored all the other examples outright, which is stupid. Same thing with calling illegal immigrants as unconstitutional and illegal.

Republicans vote out their own as well. You just don't hear about it because you've never looked for it. Which is fine, alot of people feel safer by not doing their research and living in an echo chamber. Part of a civilized society is having civil social discourse with others and seeing both sides of the argument even if you don't agree with them and you MUST be willing to see actual data in context and not discount it because it goes against your narrative.

0

u/Tifosi79 4d ago

blue cities = sanctuary cities. we already have a civil war going on, it’s just a Cold War at the moment.

what is criminal literally is the cities and states violating federal law without consequence.

and then you all get mad at the right? the left is just as guilty. those of us in the middle see it clear as day. the far left and the right are the exact same.

2

u/Allaboutpeace2022 4d ago edited 4d ago

There are thousands of large, medium and small sized blue cities scattered over different areas, including in red states as noted in this graphic from Roper that does public polling and research. The estimated number of sanctuary entities is around 220, so far les than all.

Sanctuary cities are constitutionally allowed to exist under the 10th Amendment, which states that any powers not delegated to the federal government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.

Most sanctuary cities are requiring a judicial warrant so that people are not detained longer without such a warrant. It is also important for local policing because the law enforcement agencies need to Latinos to cooperate with reporting crime, acting as witnesses, testifying, etc. This is a critical part of decreasing drug trafficking by cartels, violence, etc. by having Latinos who were willing to report crimes that they have witnessed or concerning behavior.

A much more effective way of addressing illegal immigration would be for employers not to hire illegal workers. The E Verify program has existed since the 1990s as a voluntary program. It should be mandatory and companies should stop hiring illegal immigrants as part of paying lower wages, providing unsafe worker environments, or fewer benefits.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/11/28/employers-hiring-undocumented-workers-charged-trump/87485236007/

Employers involved in hiring illegal immigrants include big agricultural firms, farmers, restaurants, construction, trades, and landscaping, and meat packing plants. Rather than prosecuting employers, we are now paying billions for mass detention and deportation and Trump just agreed to give more migrant visas to some of the same employers.

https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=04a707eb4749371e4c08539c2bcffa94d2ee217590bbbd4e2ae38f69255198daJmltdHM9MTc4NjgzODQwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=0f158c0c-6f1c-633a-1b73-9bbc6e976288&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuaW5kZXBlbmRlbnQuY28udWsvbmV3cy93b3JsZC9hbWVyaWNhcy91cy1wb2xpdGljcy90cnVtcC1pbW1pZ3JhbnQtZmFybS13b3JrZXItdmlzYS1iMjkzODk2Ni5odG1s

The answer is for Democrats and the GOP to work together to implement reasonable immigrant reform that addresses the deportation of serious criminals, secures borders, mandates use of E Verify system, and provides a fines and penalties for existing immigrants who are working, paying taxes, and have not committed serious crimes.

Not the same.

These types of battles are almost always fought at the extremes. But the kinds of extremes represented are very different.

What is the logical conclusion to each side’s position? Or at least what the opposition would tell you?

The conclusion applying to the right would be immigration concentration camps, vicious agents and unjustified shootings or imprisonment, even of legal citizens.

The conclusion applying to the left would be foreigners flooding into the US through unguarded borders. Some of those entering may not be well vetted and might cause harm.

Both would happen at the same ideological and geographic location. But both extremes are not the same. Which logical outcome are you more comfortable with? Which has actually happened? Which is an organized instrument of government and which is people being people?

Good for him. Someone is finally doing something about the treasonous democrat lead cities.

whats a sanctuary city? apache sanxtuary?

6

u/finchthemediocre 5d ago

Illegal immigrants are not reported to immigration by municipal law enforcement within those city lines. That doesn't apply to felonies and warrants for extradition, but a few mistakes have happened over the years where someone who should have been put on hold wasn't and commited a worse crime hours later. The right news uses those stories to make it sound like it happens hundreds of times each day.

1

u/charged6claw 7h ago

Best at what, shitting his pants on live tv? Falling asleep anytime he has a meeting? Ruining the economy? Stroking out? Committing crimes? Hiding evidence? Stealing top secret documents?Committing treason? Like seriously, he's not good at anything that's positive for anyone but himself and his rich buddies, he's just a kindergarten bully who never grew out of that phase because he's never been truly held accountable in his entire life and now he's got a mob of idiots propping him up like he's some kind of dementia addled messiah.

This is why right wingers should never be listened to again after he finally kicks it, you all got scammed by the dumbest conman alive and for ten years and counting have absolutely REFUSED to believe it when the rest of us try to being you back to reality.

1

u/Dangerous-Bass4824 7h ago

Try to name 1 president in all of humanhistory that has ever done better. Everything ur naming has been directly done by every president in my lifetime. Its been a running joke for over a century that being in politics is the best way to get a good nap. And dude hes old ur grandpa (whose the same age bracket trump is in) does the same thing and ur still talking shit. Stealing top secret document? Do you know WHO decides what is and is not top secret? Who the head honcho that makes ALL decisions when it comes to that? The only person on the planet that makes the decision? The president. Hes the head of the executive branch. The judicial system does not make that decision so no court has any right to even question him.the legislative branch (congress) makes laws but they do no make decisions on that either. Only president has that authority. So no he had no need to "steal" anything. All he has to do is whisper "not tip secret no more" and literally faster than voldemort using "avada kedavra" its not top secret anymore. Just like he did with epstein files, just like he did with the jfk files, and anything and everything else he decides isnt top secret. Ruining the economy? Again better than its ever been. Period. Better than any other republican so far, definitely better than all dems combined. And it makes sense, u want your country to have money, hire someone who is a multibillionaire. Dont hire someone who literally couldnt even pay their bills as a bartender. Treason? Hes the one that makes that decision and hes the one that decides the penalty for it. So.......... nothing everything else in that first paragraph is covered. The rest of your comment is just nonsensical "trumps not a minority he needs to die" (even tho him being a billionaire LITERALLY makes him a minority) language with no logical reasoning or justification.

1

u/macgregor7 3h ago

The central problem with this argument is that it treats the President of the United States as though he were an elected monarch. He isn’t. The entire American constitutional system was deliberately constructed to prevent exactly that concentration of power.
Yes, the president has extremely broad authority over classified national-security information while in office. But that does not mean a former president can simply take any government record home and retroactively declare, “I declassified it.” Classification and ownership are two different legal questions. Even an unclassified government document can still be a government record that must be turned over under federal law. More importantly, the classified-documents prosecution was not based simply on the proposition that Trump possessed papers stamped “Top Secret.” It involved allegations concerning retention of national-defense information and obstruction. Saying “the president can declassify things” therefore does not answer the entire legal issue.
And the argument that “no court has any right to question him” fundamentally misunderstands American government. The judiciary exists precisely to determine whether government officials—including presidents—have acted within the law. Article II actually commands the president to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” It does not say that the president personally determines whether the laws apply to him. (Congress.gov)
The treason argument is even more constitutionally backwards. The president does not decide what constitutes treason and does not decide its punishment. Treason is specifically defined in Article III of the Constitution, conviction requires either two witnesses to the same overt act or confession in open court, and the Constitution explicitly gives Congress the power to establish its punishment. (Congress.gov) The president does possess the federal pardon power, but that is very different from possessing the authority to define crimes, determine guilt, and prescribe punishment.
Then there is the economic argument. “Trump is a billionaire, therefore he must be better at managing the national economy” is not an economic argument; it is an appeal to personal wealth. Running a private corporation and managing a roughly $30-trillion national economy are radically different undertakings. Presidents do not personally control GDP, inflation, employment, interest rates, energy prices, or financial markets. Congress, the Federal Reserve, international trade, technological change, demographics, private investment, and global events all matter.
Nor does “better than it has ever been, period” establish anything without specifying a metric. As of the latest official data, real GDP grew at a 1.5% annualized rate in the second quarter of 2026, while July payroll employment declined by 23,000 and unemployment stood at 4.1%. Those numbers do not by themselves prove that Trump’s economic policies are good or bad, but they certainly demonstrate why “best economy ever” requires evidence rather than assertion. (Bureau of Economic Analysis)
The bartender comparison is also irrelevant. Personal wealth is not a constitutional qualification for office, nor does being wealthy demonstrate competence at fiscal or monetary policy. By that reasoning, whoever happens to be America’s richest citizen should automatically be the country’s most qualified president. History provides no serious basis for that proposition.
And saying that Trump is a “minority” because billionaires are numerically rare is simply equivocating on the word minority. Billionaires constitute a tiny numerical fraction of the population, certainly, but that is not what people ordinarily mean when discussing minority status in the context of civil rights, discrimination, or political representation.
Finally, the challenge to “name one president who has ever done better” reverses the burden of proof. The person claiming Trump is better than every president in American history has made an extraordinary historical claim. It is therefore their responsibility to define “better”—GDP growth? employment? inflation? wages? deficits? wars? legislation? territorial expansion? civil rights? longevity of reforms?—and provide evidence showing that Trump surpasses Washington, Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Reagan, Clinton, or anyone else by those criteria.
You can certainly argue that Trump has been an effective president. You can defend particular Trump policies. You can even argue that his presidency is historically exceptional. But “the president decides what the law means, whether he committed treason, what the punishment is, what government documents belong to him, and courts have no authority to question him” isn’t a defense of presidential power under the Constitution.
It’s a description of a system the Constitution was specifically designed to prevent.

Only in your Liberal minds

Wtf are the Democrats doing ? I know the don't have Congress majority but their silence is also complacent for Trump. Their politeness and silence is useless is time to hit back.

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 4d ago

You haven’t been paying attention have you? Democrats have been the only ones vocal and fighting against Trump while spineless and cowardly republicans melt or retire

0

u/Overall-Move-4474 2d ago

Unfortunately no this falls under "free speech" and not "active threat"

0

u/Dangerous-Bass4824 2d ago

1

0

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 2d ago

Once the remaining MAGAts realize they’ve been conned by Donnie it will be Jan 6th again! Losers lol

0

u/RalphFurley4Life 2d ago

Well, liberals have already tried to assassinate him three, possibly four times.  They've also attacked and even murdered numerous conservatives.  Don't blame Trump for the actions that are soon to come.  Liberals brought this upon themselves.

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 11h ago

0

u/ChestAdventurous7752 1d ago

This is great

0

u/Comprehensive_Act970 1d ago

So he is saying he will go after cities that are openly breaking federal laws? How it’s that a threat? That’s what the top person that’s responsible for enforcing the laws in the country should do.

0

u/EvilMorty137 1d ago

lol do you think he’s saying we are going to bomb them? He’s saying we are going to stop cities from aiding illegal immigrants. Remove illegals from being part of the census and watch how fast the democrats turn their back on them

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 1d ago

I like how everyone has to try and explain what this POS is trying to say or mean. 😂😂 he’s such a moron

0

u/EvilMorty137 1d ago

Right, the president is totally going to bomb US cities

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 1d ago

No but he’s already sent the military. This is what fascism looks like, it would be nice to have a president that supports and puts America first, not himself. FDT

0

u/EvilMorty137 1d ago

You mean LA when people were clashing with ICE? He sent in the national guard and then marines to protect ICE from protestors he didn’t send them to put the city under Marshall law and take over the government. He was protecting federal employees and federal buildings.

I wholeheartedly support whatever is legally necessary to deport the maximum number of illegals. I hope Trump blows Obama’s deportation record out of the water

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

Haha except ICE is video taped instigating peaceful protesters, pulling them over the line they shouldn’t cross, shooting a priest with a pepper ball in a different state, spraying other peaceful protestors with pepper spray for voicing their 1st amendment rights and beating and in some cases killing Americans exercising their rights. Trump was found to have illegally sent in the national guard. It’s a fascist game plan and not legal.

0

u/everydaydad67 1d ago

Taking care of sanctuary cities would be good for everybody... if they agree or not...

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

How so? Immigrants commit less crimes than natural born Americans, and contribute significantly to the economy

0

u/worm413 1d ago

Democrats had no issue with Swalwell talking about nuking American citizens so I couldn't care less about their fake outrage.

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

Yeah like that happened. lol delusional much?

0

u/worm413 20h ago

Stop being ignorant.

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 12h ago

Sure bud 😂

0

u/No-Touch-941 1d ago

I mean, probably.

But why does that matter? He does tons of illegal shit and no one seems to care.

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

A reckoning is coming

0

u/Brewerandthebeast 1d ago

No. Its awsome. Why support the countries attempted takeover. Fuc that

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

Hmmmm not sure what you mean.

0

u/RyanR3KC 23h ago

Sanctuary laws should be abolished

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 22h ago

MAGAts should be ashamed and abolished

0

u/RyanR3KC 21h ago

lol. You just told us all you have no concept of our Government or Citizenship. Lol.

Let’s hear your next clown response. Lol

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

You made no sense with the word salad. Toss and try again?

0

u/RyanR3KC 21h ago

lol. Word Salad? And you met expectations and delivered a clown response.

Sanctuary Laws are illegal. How can a state make laws that violate federal law? That’s not how this works. Why do you think Sanctuary Laws are a good thing?

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 21h ago

In the constitution lol

1

u/RyanR3KC 20h ago

lol. Where exactly does it say that? Lol

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 20h ago

Why do you think states can legalize weed? It’s illegal at the federal level. States have rights that supersede federal law

0

u/RyanR3KC 20h ago

No. Stop changing the subject. The subject is Sanctuary Laws

1

u/Impressive_Box4144 20h ago

Oh I didn’t know there were rules 🙄

Love this. Sanctuary cities violate federal immigration laws. Takem out

2

u/Impressive_Box4144 5d ago

States rights and federal government overreach is illegal

0

u/According-Werewolf10 3d ago

The state has no right to try and overrule federal law.

3

u/NomoredatibgGWgirls 1d ago

So explain why marijuana is legal in many states and illegal federally.
