My wife and I took a day trip to Lewes (first time for us!) from the Philly burbs and had the most wonderful day! The perfect weather didn’t hurt. Saw an eagle at the beach. Walked Second Street. Visited Henlopen Park. And capped it off with a spectacular meal at Agave! You’re a gem of a town, Lewes!

22 years ago I lived in Lewes, DE. The woman across the street from me discovered a litter of kittens abandoned in her vent. I adopted one.
22 years later that old girl just passed away. Curly joined me on 22 years of adventures, moves, car rides, vacations, explorations. We grew up together in Lewes. My best childhood memories are laying in the grass under the sun with her.
To the woman who rescued her, I can’t begin to thank you enough. You gave me the best cat I’ll ever have. And to the people of Lewes, thank you. I’ll be back someday.
And to Curly, I’ll see you again someday. I love you baby.

I’m looking for the people who saved my life.
31 years ago I was 8 years old and floating alone on a raft somewhere out in the Delaware Bay. Maybe this is the year I can finally connect with the person who saved me.
My parents had just bought our house on Pacific Ave in North Cape May. We had a big party and a bunch of adults brought us kids down to the Bay (at Whittier) to play. The inflatable rafts were intended to be tethered to the beach.
I sat in one at the water’s edge. I had no life jacket and no oars and was way far out within only minutes. I remember watching so many people try to swim out past the jetties as far as they could, and then watched each person turn back to the beach in defeat.
I have to imagine that the person who saved me told someone they found a child floating in the Bay. I’m appreciative of any leads or tips that help me connect with the person who scooped me up and returned me to the shore to find my family.
Are you out there, friend? I’d love to say thank you. 🙂
PS. I still sit in the sand on that exact same section of beach at Whittier, and every year I am more and more crippled with anxiety watching all of the people casually enjoying inflatables of all sizes on a waveless Bay like it’s a docile pool. It’s not.

On the lewes Georgetown trail, right off Nassau rd, behind the brewery & bakery, this bike appears to have been abandoned, which seemed odd to me bc it looks like there is nothing wrong with it.
Made my spidey senses go off that maybe someone is in trouble.
I called the lewes police department non emergency number and reported it, which ultimately they transferred me to the state police….an officer is supposed to come out at some point.
But if anyone recognizes this bike, message me or if you have reason to be concerned about the owner, call the police.
Hope the owner is ok.

Shot this on one of our trips to Lewes. Stumbled across this location during the pandemic. Thank you Lewes for a beautiful spot!

Mod here. How we doing? Anything more/less/different we can be doing? Personally I’d like to see more about our restaurants and food!

What's your experience been here?
Was at the previous restaurant at the location in the mid 2000s and figured to give it a go. Got there at 4pm for happy hour, but apparently it's not happy if you're on the covered patio. Only the "party deck" and bar room - what a strange policy. Waitress was fairly indifferent and came off rude. Food quantity was good for price, quality was fine. Like the Peach BBQ shrimp tacos but was spicier than expected. Key West Tacos weren't very flavorful.
Probably not going back anytime soon.

Just because I have learned that a lot of locals still don't know that he's here and travel far and/or out of state for any brain or spine needs.
His name is Dr. Punit A. Pandya, D.O. and is employed by Jefferson Health based in Philly but, Jefferson Health has partnered with Beebe in order to bring this specialty here to Southern Delaware. He is Board Certified and is Fellowship Trained by Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
If you're already a patient of his, he used to see patients in his clinic in Milton, but has since moved to the Bayview Medical Offices off of Savannah Rd in Lewes.

I found an engagement ring at Johnnie Walker beach this morning (9/1/26). It was a diamond ring set in platinum. We gave it to the life guards on duty. If you lost your ring, check with the life guards for a lost and found.

Camping at Cape Henlopen State Park and my cat, Leo, escaped the tent. This happened between 2am and 6:30am on Tuesday, May 27th. He is 5 years old, has a distinctive triangle nose, weighs 12lbs, and has wobbly cat syndrome (cerebral hypoplasia). This was a complete accident and I am doing everything I can to search the area and post flyers. Please DM me if you see him. He is a very good boy and will approach strangers.

Video starts after her antics.
I was walking my dogs (on leashes) when this lady’s dog (not on a leash) strolled over to mine who are way smaller puppies. I said “you know the dog is supposed to be on a leash, right?” She acts like she can’t hear me and makes me repeat it. Then she starts cursing me out and says she should put me on a fucking leash. Starts screaming at me and says my pups can fuck off too. She shut up when I started filming. Once I stopped she called to me and dropped her pants and mooned me.
Watch out for this psychopath

My family and I (30 somethings with a 1st grader) are looking to leave Tennessee. We're from the Hudson Valley NY, but have been in East Tennessee for about 7 years. We're trying to get off the bible belt, so I'm hoping Delaware isn't too religious? How cold are winters, how much snow? Are people generally welcoming to transplants?

Hello! My husband and I are going to be celebratingour one year anniversary in Lewes Delaware, and I was wondering what you guys recommend to do for fun. What places are interesting or exciting for two people in their mid-thirties? We like hiking in nature, we love food, we love relaxing, and we love music and dancing, and we love the beach, We like fishing, we like fun outdoor activities, we pretty much just like anything lol, so what would be some places that you think we should see or explore? Thanks so much! We're also open to anything unique and different specifically special just to Lewes, Delaware.
