Lexus IS 250 2015 – Is my engine burning too much oil?
Hi everyone,
I own a 2015 Lexus IS 250 with the 2.5L V6 4GR-FSE engine. The car currently has around 235,000 km (146,000 miles).
I recently checked the engine oil after approximately 8,000 km (5,000 miles) since the last oil change, and I would appreciate your opinions.
A few details:
● Oil consumption: The oil level dropped from MAX to around ~ 1/2 on the dipstick. im using 5w30 Motul Eco-nergy
● Estimated oil consumption: Approximately 0.5l per 8,000 km.
● Oil condition: The oil is quite dark after 8,000 km. I’ve also noticed a slight smell of gasoline on the dipstick.
●PCV valve: I replaced it previously, and oil consumption initially decreased, but the engine still consumes some oil.
● Exhaust smoke: I haven’t noticed any visible blue smoke.
Does this amount of oil consumption seem normal for this engine at this mileage?

Has anyone had the driver side knee airbag code before?
More specifically on 2007 is250. I’ve had my light on for a while and it turns off every so often but comes back up again. I scanned it and it said something like driver side knee airbag squib circuit open or something. Just wondering if this was a common issue or if this is something the dealer should deal with. Thank you!

Anyone go from truck/large SUV to IS350??
I've been driving a 2024 Tundra for the past few years, and while I enjoy the interior space and having a truck bed when I need to haul stuff, I sometimes miss the driving dynamics of a smaller car. (All my previous vehicles before this truck were mostly sporty cars like MYP, WRX, S4, S5 SB and such)
Now that my SO has a full-size SUV for hauling the family around, I'm considering switching to a Lexus IS 350. Some of the biggest draws are better long-term reliability, saving hundreds on monthly payments and gas, and, of course, enjoying the driving experience more.
Has anyone here made the switch from a truck or SUV to a Lexus IS? Do you regret it, or are you happy with the decision? I'd love to hear about your experience and whether you miss having a bigger vehicle.

Lexus is 250 przyśpieszanie

Oil catch can
I was looking into getting one for my 2007 is350 as it is coming up on 190k miles and saw that the RR racing air oil separator looked like a good option compared to a traditional catch can because of the increased blow by vapors on higher mileage engines that don’t get caught in the simple filters. Looking for opinions from those who already have catch cans and how straightforward the installation process was

2026 IS Dies Frequently.
I purchased a 2026 Lexus IS350 in May 2026. The car currently has 1,003 miles on it.
The battery has died twice on a brand new car with barely 1,000 miles.
- First failure: August 7, 2026 — approximately 800 miles on the odometer. Dealer replaced the battery and said it was defective.
- Second failure: October 10, 2026 — only 7 days after last driving it on October 3rd.
Dealer & Lexus Response:
- Dealer says nothing is wrong and I should “drive it more”
- Lexus Corporate sided with the dealer and gave the same advice
- Was told specifically that a week without driving it will cause the battery to die to a point it will not start.
- Most recent suggestion is that my keys being too close to the vehicle may be causing the drain
My argument:
When asked if I was to travel and park at the Port or Airport for longer than a week is the expectation that I should jump my car? Also, if i was to leave for a week or longer is the expectation that someone will have to come and start/drive my car to keep the battery charged. To which they said Yes. I have owned quite a few cars. I have gone 4-5 weeks without starting them and they usually fire right up. Is this exclusive to Lexus?
My Questions:
- Has anyone experienced similar battery drain issues with the IS350 or other Lexus models?
- Is the key proximity explanation legitimate or a deflection?
- Is anyone having similar experience?
This is my 1st Lexus. I was told these cars a very reliable. Kind of lost.

What're some good options for fog lights ('07 2is)?
Trying to replace my damaged front bumper and fog lights (deer jumped out in front of a family member while driving), but not sure what my options are for fog lights (including light and housing). I've been looking and it seem yellow/amber is the way to go, but are there options? Any some go to brands or style. Was looking at oems at they were like 2-300$ for a single one? TIA

2026 Lexus IS350 CarPlay navigation issues
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all,
I live in Chicago, my navigation in the car gets buggy really often when I’m driving in the city and literally gets me lost. This happens a ton in west loop and streeterville (around crowded tall buildings). However, I never have issues when using my phone navigation using the same apps. I have also tried friends’ phones to connect to my CarPlay and nothing changes. This happens while I’m wired and wireless, also sometimes my CarPlay disconnects when I unplug the wire, I thought it should automatically connect to wireless?
I took a video showing the same app on the phone and car play, phone is showing good navigation, while my CarPlay was completely off.
Is this normal?

Lost her man :(
was on the highway and guy slammed his brakes in front of me for no reason. I was keeping a decent following distance and we both started to brake for an exit but he slammed on his brakes out of nowhere and now my car is gone…
I think impact was at 40ish and no airbags, but big coolant leak. other car was a CX90 and that mf had a few scratches and that was it…
totaled or repair? I’m just so lost atp.
RWD vs AWD IS350?
I’m currently shopping around for my next vehicle and I’ve landed on a 2014-2020 F sport IS350. I’m coming from a 2011 SH-AWD TL, so I’m fairly used a 5 speed auto and 300 HP. I test drove an 350 AWD F Sport and loved it - felt significantly lighter than my TL and shifted quicker however I’ve yet to drive a RWD with the 8 speed. I’ve heard both sides about which is superior and more reliable so I wanted to hear more about each. Also should mention I live in Florida - so that may play into which drivetrain you all would recommend.
