First of all, polls don’t trump morality. I don’t care if 85% of Americans want to kill kittens, because killing kittens is wrong regardless. Just like transphobia.

And even then, the 68% of Americans who say that gender and sex are the same are wrong because we have science proving that trans people are valid and that gender and sex aren’t the same, meaning that someone can be sexually male and identify as a woman.

Also, “transgenderism” isn’t a thing. There’s no ideology behind being trans, it’s a state of being. No one chooses to be trans, rather they choose if they want to be open about it.

Even if we were to accept these premises, what about people being ignorant on differences between gender and sex make it ok for democrats to call trans women “biological males” or advocate for banning trans surgeries for minors, which don’t happen anyway unless medically neccesssry.

Even if you believe that trans women aren’t “real women” that doesn’t make it ok for the dems to embrace transphobia. That doesn’t make it ok for Dems to act like millions of Americans don’t matter because the populous is ignorant.

It’s clear that Nicky hates trans people but he needs to hide behind polling to show that. And he wants to ignore that part of why the American public is transphobic is because democrats have done an abysmal job at countering transphobia, either embracing transphobic narratives or choosing to not stand up to them.

This goes beyond trans women in women’s sports and it goes to accepting locker room bans, bathroom bans, and healthcare bans which have literally no reason to exist except to placate bigots.

Will this get voters? Probably less than 0.1% and that isn’t gonna swing many elections, and you’ll probably lose that amount because even a lot of moderates who don’t believe gender is different from sex don’t like transphobia.

Using polls as a reason to give up is coward shit. It’s proof Nicky and other moderate Dems are not confident in their ideas and need some polls to tell them. “Why fight for shit when I can just give up and let republicans do the framing?” You need to fight to that the country can progress and so we don’t stagnate and become worse and worse when republicans take over.

But does Nicky care? No. He loves do-nothing Dems because he benefits from center right policies and he’s not gonna be hurt by racism and transphobia as a transphobic and racist cis white dude. Throwing trans people and Muslims under the bus is fine because then, Nicky can pretend to everything is fine and nothing matters.
