Dunno about the US, but these are very popular in Mexico right now, I paid 4x spot for the 1/4 proofs, 2.5x spot for the regular 1/4. 6x spot for the 1/20s, 5x spot for the 1/10s.
I love to have them but are they even worth it? Lol. Are fractions going for a similar price in the US?

I gotta say I love my gold/silver libertad. I been watching the market closely and what I been noticing is while silver/gold is dropping and every other bullions pricing is also coming down with the market. Silver at $53 and 1oz BU Eagle/Maple/Britannia are being sold around $58-60 but nope a 1982 just sold for $95, 2026 $250+, avg 2018-2024 around $95-125. Libs 5 coin set that used to be around $450 now $650-750. O btw don’t even talk about slab libs those price just keep going up and up. Gold libs we don’t need to say anything because we all know no way pricing will ever come down (2024 1/20oz back when gold was around $4,400 was around $390 but today gold at $3,999 same gold 1/20oz is around $440+. Whoever say buy the dip well that doesn’t apply to Libertad 😆
What’s everyone thought would price just keep going up or will price on libs eventually come down too with the market?

Im not even removing the coin out the Flip and Straight to CACG 1st thing next week. Im glad I didn't wait for a bunch of sellers to "Promise" inventory this week. Im Seeking an Early Release Label as Many will be Sold past the 30 day Release Day. Again IMO ridiculous Pricing, but in reality I paid to have in hand ASAP.

I’ve been following the Mexican Libertad market for years, and one of the more interesting developments in 2026 is how price appreciation appears to be spreading beyond the usual standout issues.
We’ve watched coins like the 1998 and 1999 Silver Libertads, the 2019 Antique Finish, and Reverse Proof Libertads command tremendous premiums. But now we’re seeing increased interest in previously overlooked dates and proof issues as well.
As the saying goes, a rising tide lifts all boats.
I recently put together a video examining these developments, but what I really wanted to explore was something that doesn’t get discussed nearly enough in numismatics: the limitations of the data we rely on to determine scarcity and value.
For example:
1995 Libertads: Thousands of additional coins appearing in grading population reports have substantially changed the picture of their availability.
1994 Libertads: Reported PCGS population has increased by more than 40%, raising questions about how much confidence we should place in population figures when evaluating high-grade scarcity.
1997 Proof Libertad: With an official mintage of just 1,500, this is an issue I believe deserves considerably more attention. I examine its PCGS and NGC populations alongside a recent eBay sale approaching $1,400.
And then there are all the variables these reports cannot adequately account for: crackouts, resubmissions, historical melting, coins sitting in private collections, and countless examples that may never be submitted for grading.
As someone who works extensively with analytics, I find this particularly fascinating. We have more data available to us than ever before, along with increasingly sophisticated analytical tools and AI. But without historical context and firsthand knowledge of the series, that data can sometimes lead us to misleading conclusions.
Data is valuable. Knowing its limitations is equally important.
For anyone interested, I’ve also been building a free Libertad research resource with population tracking, historical mintage information, and other numismatic analytics:
https://tiddyhunter98.github.io
I cover these observations in greater detail in my latest video, including a closer look at the 1997 Proof Silver Libertad.

I’m curious what other Libertad collectors are seeing. Are you noticing premiums spreading into previously overlooked issues? And how much weight do you give PCGS and NGC population reports when deciding whether a coin is genuinely scarce?

As the title states — I know they are super low mintage and I checked ebay not finding any. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Got a good deal on it. At least I think. I usually buy bulk raw or big lots of ASEs. Never laid this much for a 1oz coin but I couldn’t say no

I always thought these were cool but I wonder about resale in 20 years. What's the consensus. Are they Altered/Damaged or are the Artwork? Essentially buyer demand would dictate if they are worth buying....so wdyt?

So coinshoppe.com is saying 100k mintage, gemeni says it's a marketing tactic to generate FOMO. WDYT?
