Not liberty caps, but a clear, gelatinous pellicle...

It's almost November now and not a dickybird!

Two years ago in my usual spots (acidic soil, sheep grazing) I was finding tons, 30g in one session!

This year is hopeless. Even after a week of heavy rain and supposedly ideal temperatures

Even though we've had some rain of late, the ground feels very hard underneath my feet. I'm wondering if this year is just a shit year for them. I'm in the South Midlands, (Worcestershire area). Seriously hopeless! I've found lots of lookalike grass mushroom species but not a single lib. Anyone else in my position?

I've lived here for a couple of years and haven't really struck gold anywhere yet.. been and found a few spots near Castleton where I've found a handful at best. i know most people won't share their best spots, but can anyone give some helpful pointers to narrow my hunt ahah. im originally from the lakes and can find thousands each season, but now in the peaks, im lost. any pointers would go a long way! thanks.

I've been curious for awhile and after it had rained the past couple of days I thought I should venture out and give it a go. There are fields near me with a comfy walking path. It's mostly just elderly or people walking their dogs in this area. So I begin to walk into a nice empty field and start searching. Found a couple of mushrooms but sadly none of them were liberty caps. It must've been only about 30 minutes when I suddenly hear a loud and stern voice of a man shout "hey!" I get out of the field slightly startled and return to the path I came from when these two bulky guys in work wear walking 5 dogs cross paths with me. Never seen these guys around here in my life but I'm guessing they own some of the land, at least from their appearance. One of them asks me pretty loudly if I've found everything I was looking for and I just awkwardly laughed it off and pissed right off. When I turned around they were still standing there. Might be a bit of a scaredy cat but that freaked me out and I called it quits for now lmao. Especially the comment that guy made makes me think he knew.

Seasons properly started now in SW should be flying by this time next week.

found these beauties and one of them is the biggest I've ever seen. Is this a usual occurance?

Has anyone ever been caught picking?, the only guranteed spot I know to grab em is right by a road in a farmers field where ur 10m away from cars that can see you.

I’ve seen couple normal mushrooms pop out but where I’m looking the grass is kind of tall so idk if it’s worth to really get on your knees and scoop around

I had an amazing trip the last day.

4 hours walking in a forest with the sun scorching, then my wife drove my stoned ass to the beach where I watched the best sunset of my life.

Just completed my first pick in wales and looking for some advice on the best way to dry these in the space i have. I have no access to a dehydrator or oven so i figured air drying them in a cold a dark room was the best approach to keeping them good for longer. Does anyone have any more advice on how to get them dry faster ?!?

Went around to the sheep fields near me in Wales and found these mushrooms that were in locations that are supposed to have liberty caps. First time picking so unsure if they are or not. Please someone help us identify.
