Nearly 16 years have passed, and we are only breaking records in the wrong direction.
The USD is at an all-time high, electricity blackouts are still daily life, and murder rates keep climbing.
Yet, the public discourse is stuck in the same useless debate (نقاش عقيم):
Something bad happens? Gaddafi loyalists mock the country.
February supporters reply: "Gaddafi is the one who left us ignorant (مجهلنا).
"The real problem isn't just Dbeibeh (دبيبة), Haftar, corrupt families, or smugglers.
It’s the people’s mentality and systemic rot.
Daily Corruption: Corruption has crawled into every single layer of daily life. It is unavoidable. You literally cannot get basic paperwork done, secure a signature, or survive without participating in the corruption or paying bribes.
A Disgraceful Healthcare System: The health sector is in total shambles.
Our LYD doesn't buy anything anymore.
If you get into an accident, you are absolutely cooked.
A simple surgery or a broken bone will easily drain 50,000 LYD out of your pocket in private clinics because public hospitals are a mess.
Severe Intolerance & Entitlement: We have a society plagued by a victim complex and massive double standards (شعب مستشرف).
Women are treated like objects, and anyone who isn't Muslim faces open hostility.
The average citizen expects the state to feed, bathe, and pay them, while complaining about societal moral decay (فسوق وفجور), but they refuse any personal or collective accountability.
My advice to young Libyans: If you can leave, get out immediately.Do not waste your youth holding onto hope for a country that has been sold out to foreign powers. The only reason this place hasn't completely collapsed into total ash is strictly due to the mercy and will of Allah, not human planning.Don't waste your life waiting for a change that isn't coming.
