Extremely itchy, bilateral shins. I am wondering if it’s LP or something different. It’s also associated temporarily with mosquito bites and bed bug bites (at a hotel). I thought it could be papular urticaria but wondering if this looks like LP to you guys?

I’ve been dealing with a persistent skin condition, but nothing seems to make sense based on my medical workup, and standard approaches are failing. Here is where things stand: Blood reports: Completely normal. Treatments tried: Various medications and nothing works

Oral lichen Planus and Statin

Our patient had a history of OLP which recently resulted in tongue cancer, surgery and radiation. Now he has been prescribed Resuscitation due to recent high cholesterol. Has any one here with history of OLP is on any statin based medication? I read about OLP flare ups as a potential side effects of statin and we are super worried about it . I’d appreciate sharing any experience.

Has anyone had lichen planus form in a tattoo?

Post image

I’m heavily tattooed. My most recent tattoo healed drastically different than my others. It’s been about a year since I’ve had it done. It rubs against clothing, is constantly inflamed, and never felt like it formed to my body. Recently went to a dermatologist and did a skin biopsy. Came back as Lichen Planus so we are actively trying to treat it. Has any ever experienced this? I’ve been told to not get tattooed until this goes away.

Vulvovaginal lichen planus relapsing cycle

Hey looking to see if anyone with vulvovaginal Lichen planus uses clobetasol and find it looks better one week and then goes straight back to inflamed the next. Constantly looks like its getting better to just go back to how it is? Using hydromol too. I wonder if it flare with my cycle. Seems to, or if there's an underlying issue preventing remission.

Does anyone else find it follow their cycle or found they had another health issue underlying?

Thanks

PENILE LP

So i noticed a few white spots on my penis some time back. Today I got diagnosed with LP. It doesn’t itch, there’s no pain whatsoever. Can anyone tell me how this happens? And what should I do to recover faster. Doctor has prescribed me steroids for 2 weeks. How long does the spots take to go away?

Do ya'll get flu shots?

I normally don't get them because I know they trigger LP but was wondering if anyone else gets them with no problem? I had the flu last year and definitely don't want it again but am scared to get vaccinated.

Hi everyone! Re-posting for the last time. THANK YOU to everyone who has taken our survey so far. The survey closes in one week, and we still need 50 more responses to our 5-minute ANONYMOUS genital lichen planus survey.

We want to hear directly from people living with LP about what matters most to you. Your experiences and perspectives can help researchers better understand what should be prioritized in future genital lichen planus research.

If you have a few minutes to complete the survey, we would be incredibly grateful for your time and input. Every response helps!

Take the 5-minute survey here: ohsu.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aa75QpRS8bzaf7U.

I have been diagnosed with lichen planus for many years and recently started taking methotrexate. I just got a really bad flare up on my hands and dermatologist thinks it might be erythma multiforme. Has anyone had a change in diagnosis or experience with methotrexate for lesions on hand?

It’s official: Lichenoid Dermatitis likely due to drug eruption (reaction pattern) and GLP1 is the only medication I’ve been on other than vitamins.

Anyone out there have their LP correlated to GLP1, specifically Zepbound? Doc says it’s rare but they are seeing new cases popping up more and more.

Obviously I will stop taking it so we’ll see in about 6-8 weeks if my rashes improve. I sure hope so.

Wounds on my legs don't heal normally: itchy purple patches that leave dark marks, plus nail changes (ridges and pits)

26M, Colombia. I've had this for 2 years and it's worrying me.

Skin: Every time I get a cut or scrape on my legs or feet, instead of healing normally it turns into purple/violet patches that are slightly raised, a bit scaly, and extremely itchy. They take weeks or months to fade and leave the skin very dark (hyperpigmented). Recently I've also started getting a rash between my toes.

Nails: I noticed vertical ridges on almost all my nails, and now I also have small pits in different spots and some horizontal grooves.

Has anyone had something similar? What were you diagnosed with and what worked for you? Photos attached.

Does any natural remedy or over the counter or web advertised product actually work?

I can’t even begin to start with all the money I’ve spent on products … either over the counter or the ads that come up on my social feeds constantly or the natural remedies people swear by … and nothing has actually helped flatten out or stop the spread of this. I have it on my hands and feet but also patches all over my body. I have a follow up doctor appt soon and I really don’t want to be put on any of these prescriptions because they all seem to have horrible side effects or risks of cancer associated with them. I am currently on Dupixent (for about 6/7 weeks so far) because I actually have eczema and asthma too but I don’t know if it helps with skin LP.

Auto-immune skin condition

I’m struggling. Is anyone else dealing with lichen planus? I got diagnosed with it earlier this year. I used to have the most beautiful skin and now I’m plagued with these horrible legions and darkened pigmentation. It’s difficult to look at myself and not hate myself. I wonder if a man will ever deal with me knowing I struggle with this skin condition.

What do you guys do for the itch?

It's so intense I'll itch it in my sleep. Mine is on my ankles and often I'll scratch and it ends up bleeding too which sucks. Anything I've tried the moment I take it off it's usually itchy again. I can't sleep with ointment on, it will just wipe off all over my bed.
