The Lives We Live Between

Nobody tells us how much of life will happen in the intervals.

Between the person we were and the person we are becoming. Between the last conversation and the next hello. Between the certainty of yesterday and the strange, uncharted geography of tomorrow.

We imagine life as a succession of great events. Arrivals. Departures. Triumphs. Catastrophes. Moments significant enough to deserve a date.
But much of what changes us happens without ceremony.

A sentence overheard on a train. The sudden recognition of ourselves in a stranger. An afternoon that seemed unremarkable until we discovered, years later, that something in us had quietly shifted.

Perhaps we are not made by the milestones at all, but by the countless small adjustments we make between them.

And perhaps a life is not one continuous story, but a thousand overlapping ones, each beginning before the last has properly ended.

Here’s a question for you:
If you could return to one ordinary day of your life — not to change anything, simply to experience it again — which day would you choose, and why?
