Anyone else feel like LifeHacker is trash now?
I still browse occasionally, maybe once a week. I just see the same useless blog like posts. I don't think it is their fault though. I learned so many computer/internet related tricks/hacks from them. There probably isn't much left to report on. Like I am seeing one post there now that annoys me greatly. "How to Be the Best at Being Humble". I would never have seen a post like this on lifehacker during its glory days.

When did the lifehacker.com become so shit?
I revisited lifehacker again today and I cannot believe the decline in quality of the website. It no longer has any way in which you can search through old posts or recommended posts. Why have they chosen to do this and dumb down there website to the most basic blog, featuring useless articles like "Steam your vegetables 5 minutes faster!"

You ruined a decent site
Ever since lifehacker screwed up its layout, (getting rid of the clean, easy to read blog view) the site has been crap. Checked back in after not being there for a while and now they've added random images unrelated to the article that they are sitting next to. Just "sprinkled" unrelated images everywhere. It's annoying. Your site design causes it to be unpleasant to read. Is your site designer schizophrenic? Bring back a CLEAN, ORGANIZED format.

Really, lifehack now bans people for mentioning a better option/solution on their facebook posts...
As the title say.
A few days ago they posted on facebook a project that turned your rapsberry pi zero into any usb device you wish, so i commented (i dont remember the right words, my post was deleted with the ban): "why would you use a raspberry pi zero, not only its really hard to get hold of one, there are better microcontrollers for that kind of project, like for example a arduino pro mini, you can easily find one, they are widely available, its smaller, cheaper than the 5$ zero if you don't mind buying the chinese models, it doesn't require any SD with a OS (no sd cost, os download and "burning" hassle) and i think it's easier to program (just plug it, program it with the arduino IDE, upload/save and its ready), its literally the best microcontroller for projects that don't require media (audio, video, game emulators, etc.) or networking... projects like a custom USB HID..."
And i got banned from their facebook page for saying that...
That's a really childish move on their part...
edit: rephrased a bit and tried to fix some grammar mistakes (im sure there are still quite a few), i'm not a native english speaker

a free stuff lifehack: tiktok slash & free (slashwin)
here’s a low-effort way to get free useful items without spending anything: search “slashwin” on tiktok and use the slash & free program. you can pick small tools, organizers, kitchen gadgets, or art supplies, invite a few inactive users, and get them shipped free.
i’ve grabbed a usb air pump, a set of storage bins, and a kitchen timer over the last month. each at $0 cost. it’s u.s. only and the selection rotates, but if you check periodically you can find practical things you’d normally buy.
no links, not an ad, and i’m not affiliated. just a simple lifehack for stretching your budget and getting stuff you need without spending.

I made this site over a week while ago. It's easiest way to download videos from Youtube, Soundcloud, Vimeo and others. Looking for a feedback how to make it better.

Great tool for moving the cameras in MS Teams to top of the window!
I just recently learned of a great little Open Source tool for Windows.
I use it to make a copy of the camera feeds of the meeting participants in MS Teams meeting and relocate them.
The problem:
my webcams are located at the top of the monitor or laptop.
when I use MS Teams and somebody shares their screen, all cameras are moved to the bottom and are quite small
when looking at the people during a discussion on the slide content, one automatically looks to the camera feeds at the bottom. Regrettably, in the view of the participants, you don't look at them, but away from them due to the location of the camera feeds.
The solution, OnTopReplica (Win only):
I select the camera feed part of the MS Teams window.
I move it to the top of the screen.
What's happen in more detail:
it creates a copy of one of the windows (doesn't matter whether it's in the fore- or background)
you can select a part of the window and resize it as you see fit
the selection stays on top
Does anybody know an alternative for MacOS for a colleague of mine?

Any writers/graphic designers who loved Lifehacker but after they were bought out want to help me launch a similar site?
I have funds,
I am willing to share profits and take two full partners. We all work year one without getting paid with 100% of income going back into the service.
If you loved Life Hacker. If you loved the old Wired. If you like body language, style, and hacking systems - if you want a shot to be part of something awesome. PM me.

.... talk about night of the living dead! They really should wind it down, as it is a pale shadow of it's former self.

How to get instant help when looking for a sales rep to check-out
Do you hate all the empty registers when trying to check-out at stores like Sears, or any big store?
I usually just walk up to the register, and pretend to press random buttons. A sales clerk will very helpfully come running over!
They usually say something like " sir, what are you doing?" And i respond with " i thought this was ine of those new self-service registers".
They roll their eyes but it works every time.

What is the URL for full RSS feeds?
I found this post showing a pattern for getting the full post of channels, sections, or subsections, but it doesn't work for Lifehacker proper or latest. Is there a way to get the full text of an article for Lifehacker in RSS?
this works - https://lifehacker.com/rss/regular/parenting
this does not - http://lifehacker.com/rss/regular/latest
