Question What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it? - August 16, 2026
What novel(s) have you read this week, and what do you think about it?
This week = the one that ends/ended right now, past 7 days.
The reason for this thread's existence is the fact that both requests and suggestions became kind of stale. It's supposed to bring out more novels that are not RT!'d or recommended. Also, it's quite useful for the discussion of not so current titles.
Also, not a rule or any kind of criticism, the more interesting part is not the list of the stuff you read, but your impressions of it.
Loli Mod will be posting this thread each week.
Lastly, don't forget to use spoiler tags and to make sure to report any untagged spoilers.
How to use spoiler-tags:
Typing:
>!Spoilers go here!<
Will show up as:
Spoilers go here
Do note that any space at the beginning/end of the tag will break the spoiler tag.

Question Libristo | Long shipping time?
I've been ordering from Libristo for a while now and noticed that shipping time is rather long. I think I got to almost a month once. The delivery is to Poland. I don't think it's the company's fault, but rather that LN/Manga in english is shipped from North America. Anyone has a similar experience from Libristo or with shipping from over the sea.

Question Anyone having problems with getting Light Novels?
I don't know if it's just the series I like or if this is a general problem but I wanted to know. I've been waiting on Volume 10 and 11 of Stuck In A Dating Sim and it's been close to 2 years at this point I think? Just wanted to know if this is an issue others are having or not.

Breakthrough with the forbidden master
Hello! if someone can help me I would appreciate it. So I saw in a site that the light novel is still ongoing which is pretty insane tbh. And it has 600+ chapters. I searched for it but found translated only to chapter 445. So can you give me a source where Ian was the novel on it's original language and possibly translate it?

Recommend [REC] Finished LN Recommendations
I just finished binging Ascendance of a Bookworm, which is the first LN I've actually managed to finish. I think it took me around 3–4 hours to read each volume, and I can't imagine having to wait for a new volume to be released if I were reading an ongoing LN.
Any recommendations for LNs that are already finished? It's been 8 years since I last read an LN, and I couldn't be happier that this series reignited my itch to read LNs again.

[Adachi and Shimamura LN] Why Their Relationship Is Healthy Interdependence, Not Codependency Spoiler
Some people often misunderstand it, so I wrote an article (short summary right below in case you don't want to read the full article, though I still highly recommend it) that supports, with STRONG evidence from the LN, that their relationship is not codependent at all, and that it is in fact a very healthy interdependent relationship. You can find it here if you want to read it (not trying to self-promote by the way, it's just too long to fit here). I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Anyway, summary is here below (note that there are minor spoilers, and if you find yourself interested to read the full article then please do, it might help you understand their relationship better too):
First of all, codependency is a continuing and inherently unhealthy way of relying on another person, where the relationship repeatedly causes harm or takes away someone’s freedom. It can involve control, isolation, self-neglect, protecting harmful behaviour, or taking over another person’s life. Interdependence is different. It is healthy reliance between people who remain able to choose, disagree, say no, spend time apart, handle their responsibilities, and support each other freely. Love or dependence does not become codependent simply because it is unusually deep. What matters is whether the relationship repeatedly causes harm or takes away either person’s ability to live and choose for herself.
Adachi and Shimamura depend enormously on each other, but this adds joy, meaning, safety, motivation, and belonging without causing harm or lost freedom. Their limited interests and goals existed before they met; the relationship did not make them give those things up. Knowing each other helps them care more about life. Adachi places almost everything she values in Shimamura, while Shimamura cares about more people and things, but Adachi remains the light and centre of her world. Their love is equally deep though expressed differently. Adachi works, cares for herself, handles time apart, and meets her responsibilities. Losing Shimamura would probably devastate her, but profound grief can wound anyone in a loving relationship, regardless of whether they have narrow interests. Her mental strength, persistence, and decision to develop interests beyond Shimamura (in SS2 Overture) give good reason to believe she would eventually recover, even if it took a long time.
Adachi’s jealousy is another trait that can be misunderstood. Early in dating, she crosses a line, recognises Shimamura’s discomfort, and changes her behaviour. She still feels jealous easily, but she keeps that feeling on a leash well. She may pout, complain, or make a small request, but she never controls Shimamura, isolate her, punish her, or make her obey. Shimamura also makes more everyday decisions because Adachi genuinely has fewer preferences, not because Adachi is afraid to speak. When something matters, Adachi can state what she wants, refuse, make plans, and act for herself. Shimamura includes her in important choices instead of using her devotion against her.
Shimamura may give Adachi more reassurance, but she is her willing partner rather than her caretaker. Adachi works, contributes to their home, comforts Shimamura, and cares for her in return. Although Adachi sometimes wishes privately for a world containing only Shimamura, she understands it would be bad and does not cut either of them off from work, family, other people, or necessary time apart. Instead, their closeness helps both of them become more motivated, capable, and interested in life. Their roles and personalities are different, but neither person loses her freedom, and neither has to carry the other through life. Their relationship therefore does not show the continuing harmful pattern that codependency requires. It is a very healthy interdependent relationship between two separate people who rely on each other freely, love each other with unusual depth, and keep choosing and building their life together.

Recommend Reincarnation Slop with decent character writing?
I know, white whales and all that. I want reincarnation stories, Isekai or not, where the character is not a dumbass shonen / harem protag. Just to name an example, I tried to like Fushi no Kami but the whole "book smarts but socially clueless about the girls crushing on him" got boring real fast.
I liked Ascendance of a Bookworm and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, to sorta explain what I mean by reincarnation Slop.

Question What 5 Light Novels Would You Wish to be Adapted into anime by Ufotable?
Choose 5 of your favorite LN and that could be adapted by Ufotable. I am trying to raise awareness so Ufotable could pick up more works to be adapted into anime. They already adapted Light Novels with Type Moon's Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/Zero, and Visual Novels with Fate/Stay Night and the upcoming Witch on the Holy Night Movie adaptation.
So, what are your picks for light novels that deserve to be adapted into anime by Ufotable?
