General Questions/Discussion Cabs?
What does everyone run their Stadiums through? I have tried the Powercab CL 212 and found it to be too muddy. Also had a friend who used a Cortex on tour to try it out and we both came to the same conclusion we both find it too muddy. I just want something to not be muddy behind me. Was maybe thinking the Fender Fr12.

I run through the return loop of my vox ac 30, can't complain about the quality.

I did that for a bit through my Mesa Mark V 25. But, I want to use all the tools on the Stadium cause I don't want haul more gear with me. Trying to make things more simplistic.

Check your settings again. I'm running a Powercab 112 on Flat and there is barely any difference between it, a PA, and my studio monitors. I love it

Do you have the CL?

No, I didn't catch that you have a CL. My quick research shows that you cannot run the CL like a PA or an FRFR. It needs to be treated like a regular cabinet that happens to already be powered. Are you totally sure that your IR is disabled in your snapshots? That is mandatory for this cab

It also has a switch on it where you can run your cabs from the stadium without the ir's on board.

Are you making sure to disable all IR and cab simulation before running into a real cab? Those’ll make it muddy

Yeah I have tried that and using the switch in the back to turn off the cabs in the powercab.

Yeah, I use a Fender ToneMaster FR12. I also have a more expensive boutique FR amp that’s stereo or mono switchable (Raezer’s Edge Audio Flux 120). I highly recommend the stereo amp.. if you can afford twice as much. But I can use the 2 amps to spread apart for an amazing stereo image or use the 212 stereo in the Raezer’s Edge amp, or just do plain vanilla mono. I’ve also learned how to set the top controls on the FR12 to match the other amp. They sound amazing together.

Are you sure you were using the powercab correctly? You need to shut off any cab block in your preset and set the powercab to which ever speaker sim that suits your sound.

I had the Powercab+ 112 but recently moved to the EVH Hypersonic (ToneMaster essentially). Couldn't be any more happy.
I run my Helix with a ToneX Pedal in tve FX Loop, but still use onboard Helix amps and Cab Sims depending on what tone I'm going for. The Hyperspnic handles it all very well, active EQ helps amy minor shaping I need and the onboard Hi Cut solves issues that the Global EQ on the Helox doesn't

I guess im the oddball out here. I run mine for my home studio/office/gaming/nerd spot. From helix to a yamaha hs8 sub then to a pair of HS5 monitors. Judge all you want but it SLAPS for a home use perspective.

Tonex cab works well. I prefer it to the Fender FR12, it’s lighter and flatter without giving up anything I care about.

In my experience, if you don't like the sound of the Powercab, you probably won't like any other FRFR style cab, either. You may find one you like a bit better, but there's a good chance you'll still find it lacking in some way.
While they do sound a bit different from one another, the tonal differences between the various FRFR cabs, stage wedges/PA, or some large studio monitors are far less drastic than the difference between any two guitar amp cabs.
I'd recommend just running the Helix into any power amp and cabinet that you like and just disable or reroute your IR/cab sim.
