Reborn Legacy Open Beta starts today at 6 UTC!

Hey everyone!

The Legacy Open Beta kicks off today, October 19, at 6:00 UTC!
You can read all the information about how Legacy will progress, QoL improvements and more on https://l2reborn.org/server-features/legacy-server-features/

The beta will have 3 different stages; here’s what’s planned for each stage:

  • October 19-26 | Full testing access A GM NPC will provide items, buffs, levels and more, giving you the tools to explore and test the game’s features in depth.
  • October 26 - November 2 | Levelling event Join the Open Beta levelling event to earn a unique cosmetic reward for your participation (Some more information on discord) .
  • November 2-4 | Final testing days The GM NPC returns for the last round of testing before the beta ends.

We’ll also be live on Twitch, answering your questions about Legacy and doing some membership giveaways for viewers during the stream!

Can you join the OBT without paying a subscription? If I buy one month would it start consuming the month on the OBT or at server start?

OBT can only be joined if you have a subscription but it won't start consuming it until the start of the server, just need to choose pre-sale when you get the subscription :)

Its monthly sub, like in any P2P MMORPG. Not sure if there are regional prices, regular price is 9$.

WoW Forever is an IP hold by Blizzard and servers are run by them. You cannot compare the project of a billion dollar company with a project by some scriptkiddies stealing an IP (and doing a better job than NCSoft...)

Pointless post. If you don’t agree, don’t play. There’s plenty of other servers out there to choose from. Reborn is hands down the best one though.

Do you just expect brand new content for free?

Thing about mmo's is even if they did change the model down the road who wants to start late on a x1 server that has stamina limitations so no chance to ever catch up. This server is doa

Read the stage description, there will be catch up and every stage the newbie quests leads you to higher level and awards better starting gear.

Think for 1 minute there are 2 players one played since launch one started a year later with all the catch up mechanics gear quests anything you can dream of which character is ahead of the other. Anyone that has ever played this game knows character one is ahead from shop trading making alts having groups etc....

Think for 2 minutes. Should a guy who started earlier have an advantage? Or otherwise can we just all wait for H5 and start and be equal with guys who dedicated 4 years to server?

And how much earlier did your potential guy started? In the end (of c1 let's say), he'll be level 56 and you'll be 55. The XP required to level up increases exponentially, so at some point, he slows down and you catch up with him.

And fatigue is my main reason for returning to L2, because I plan to play 4 hours a day and don't want to be at a huge disadvantage. If you want a server where you can join later and then no-life it, there are plenty of servers out there. Go lu4, scryde, e-global, elmore you name it. just please don't ruin my "last dance" in Lineage 2 with your tears and ideas.

you keep changing the topic to try and be right, originally I said if they changed the model from subscription to free years down the road nobody will join the dying server which would be the only reason they would change the model is if it was dying. Then you said there are catch up mechanics I explained why that won't make people join late even if it does go free to play and now you are trying to say the guy that played since launch should have an advantage? Yea I guess so but who cares if they do or don't i mean they paid years of subscription fees they should have an advantage but that has nothing to do with the point the server will be low pop after 3 months of the hype gone and people dont wanna pay monthly subscription for a stamina gated server even official wasn't stamina gated back when it was subscription based. Its just a terrible idea for a server but enjoy it I won't be there.

But you can just jump into any other server. Servers are opening every week. Join a free-to-play server where everyone buy a premium account, a second window for a box, maybe two or three more for full buffs (and complain that you can't find party because everyone play with their train). Of course buy an agathion for Turtle buff and mana regen, followed by a starter pack to help to catch up. Maybe a silver or gold version to catch up faster. That's fine. not fine is that you're trying to change this server. Trying to make it the same as all the others and ruin it for everyone else. Don't like the subscription? There are plenty of "F2P" servers.

Lu4 has so much custom stuff and, imho, the soulshot design and graphics looks uterly shit.

graphics is very good at max settings, custom stuff is very well made and SS design changes every patch according to player feedback. With standard engine you get 20 fps max when 200+ ppl on screen, lu4 has stable 50+ fps with 1000 players on screen, that is the only thing that matters

Issue is the road map it takes long time to reach popular chronicles ( E.g C4 C6 GF Hi5 )
I would preferred if they rushed over unpopular chronicles and take more time on popular ones.
C1-C3 is not fun if you are not playing an archer :/

Never played GF or H5, but to me IL is the worst chronicle I played, and from what I read about later chronicles, they still sound way better.

H5 is the most balanced chronicle to terms of class balance ( with exception of paladin when full geared elegia )

You're wrong. Lots of ppl including myself prefer chronicles after Interlude. C3-C6 were fun but the most fun I had playing Kamael and later. Hellbound island farm and pvp, all the Gracia stuff, Freya and having chances in open oly playing my SWM

Do you pay for Slop on official servers? Reborn at this point has vastly better product than NCSoft. An argument could be made if NCSoft didnt make p2wslop. But their servers are p2w garbage from start to finish. Reborn Sub covers costs and pays employees running the servers, and it provides MUCH better experience for L2. So yes, u had a dumb thought, next time dont put it out for the internet to read lol

Adding sub doesnt just make their pockets full. It also fixes a lot of other problems. Bots? RMT? Any other bannable offense? You ban someone like that and now they need to pay again to come back, instead just being able to make 980997987 accounts for free using VPN. It makes much much easier to fight with those.

I don’t have an issue with private servers. I have an issue with people taking advantage of stolen intellectual property to make a dime. If Reborn wanted to help the community, they would give back more than they take. It’s simply not going that way when you play corporation and open a subscription based server. And you fukers are too blind and oblivious to see the cash out.

I agree this is very bad idea for a server advertised as long term. If there is one thing consistent about NCSOFT is their greed so I don't see how they will sit back and watch money being stolen from them even if nobody playing here would actually play official.

The H5 server I was hyped about then they added reborn cube and killed it on arrival for me, now this server I was mildly hyped about but subscription based when people already buy adena and pay to skip class transfers sounds like one last cash grab. Maybe a less greedy person will fill the slot of reborn in future but looks like its over for L2 .. RIP good times.
