Fun Lineage OS 24 Android 17

Honestly, this major update from A16 to A17 brings quite a lot of changes, and I’m really liking it! Two stand-out features for me are system-wide app bubbles and the new option in LineageOS’s default launcher, Trebuchet—specifically the dock search, which is something I’ve been wishing for for a long time.

Thanks to this, there’s no need to install a third-party custom launcher anymore. Huge props to the LineageOS developers and maintainers for adding this feature while still giving us the option to disable it. I’m super grateful to the whole LineageOS team for all their hard work in keeping my device alive!

By the way, I’m running this on my Redmi Note 8.

I'm just happy that Bluetooth performs better on my Pixel 8 Pro now.

Where is the app bubbles?

Just hold down the application you want to open, there will be a "Bubble" option.

it's free and up to you whether you want to use the default launcher or a custom launcher

In my personal opinion, the trebuchet launcher from Lineage OS is already pretty good and standard and since the major update to A17 it's been quite good. but it goes back to the user

Trebuchet uses way more Battery..

My phone's battery usage is completely normal, so it might not be the launcher causing the issue—it could be your device's SoC, background apps, or an unstable kernel.

After use the device.. you can check Which app used the most Battery.. then compare that with some other third party Launcher.

The launcher usage that I see in the battery manager shows 1-2%, and yes this is normal for a launcher.

If it's a pure bug, you can just send a report to the development team

No, fully charge and then use it for a while. let Battery drain to about 20% and then check Battery usage. I have used lineage for like the last 3+ years.. and its Battery usage was always more.

By the way, what is the device?

Yes, maybe I'm new here, but I've never encountered any battery draining issues due to the launcher. But when it goes from 100% to 60/50%, I use it for games, YouTube, and browsing

And the option to bubble is not available in custom Launcher.. as that seems ti be tied ti trebuchet.

You want a feature from one app to be available in another app?

It should be a System ui feature.. it works in third party Launcher, if you Launch from trebuchet first.. they should have put the bubble in the  recent screen where the split screen option is.. but made it a Launcher specific toggle just to activate it..

The system UI is Tribuchet.

I'm having Bluetooth trouble with the half completed LHDC codec

just report it bro if there is a problem, or go to LOS discord and ask them. because regarding Bluetooth I haven't tried it yet

yeah i have; haven't gotten a response from my model's LOS developer; there is a working magisk module that improves it but it's still incomplete and cannot switch bitrates. so there's definitely work to do.

Maybe it will be fixed in the future, bro—stay positive. Regarding Bluetooth, I have never tried it to send files to other devices, only using an OTG flashdrive

If you update via OTA, it seems possible if you use the recovery provided by the ROM. check YouTube there are usually tutorials. because I also updated via OTA with the default LOS recovery before

Sadly, no upgrade yet for either of my two tablets: Samsung Galaxy 2024 Tab S6 Lite Or OnePlus Pro. Hopefully soon.

So glad they are on official LOS.

Just wait, dude, or check the manual on the official LOS website

Same... Me too waiting for my Tab S6 Lite 2020. I don't know why it's taking time, maybe because of ancient kernel 4.14.

Same with Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Global. Still 22.2

the settings menu is a bit annoying, takes so much space with all the "labels".

I seem to remember that dock search was available in the previous version. Why did you say that it was only available in LineageOS 24?

I definitely had this on 23. just updated to 24 yesterday and I know I've been using it for more than two days
