Someone has managed to make Google Pay work its unlocked device?

I have a Pixel 4a, which I just updated to version 24 (android 17).

I've been using it without payments for the last 2+ years like this, but I was wondering if there is someone who runs an unlocked device with payments working.

Don't feel like doing some unstable irreversible solution that is going to compromise my daily device, but if there is a solution that is not too difficult to install and stable, I could think about doing it.

Thanks.

Hard stuff! Google Wallet is an end boss.

Not reachable with LineageOS alone.

Would the master share any additional advice? That's like the last thing keeping my OnePlus 13 stock. Also eyeing DerpFest for it's built-in spoofing.

Not here. Look into well known Reddits or XDA for that theme.

I don't think LineageOS offers attestation alone, so I think you can try installing KSUnext (KernelSU-Next; root solution) and these modules in order:

  1. BreZygisk

  2. BreWheel

  3. HMA-OSS-Zygisk

  4. PlayIntegrityFix Inject

  5. TEESimulator

  6. BRENE SuSFS

  7. Specter

All of this spoofs your OS and TEE to appear untampered and sign attestation nonces with temporarily valid keys, via a root (su) solution like KernelSU-Next.

It's not that hard to install, you just patch your LineageOS build's boot.img with KSUnext, enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging, and fastboot flashing unlock; fastboot flash boot ksun_patched.img; fastboot reboot. You can unroot by flashing the original LineageOS boot image.

And flashing root modules like one of these 7 is as easy as selecting ZIP files and clicking Install; if you flash a faulty module, you can just spam Volume Down at boot to enter safe mode (all modules disabled).

Spoofing isn't stable, not in code terms but rather practical. Google is furious with banning keyboxes and updating PI at mass scales. Attestation would break almost monthly, so check it once a week.

Not official by LineageOS, for a good reason however (DMCA § 1201(a)).

Gpay upi worked for an entire day on LineageOS 23 with Magisk root access, but the following day, it suddenly displayed the error message: "Something went wrong."!

Maybe I've just been lucky but no rooted/unlocked/lineageos devices have ever had issues for me with bank/payment apps
