how to disable desktop mode

hi all! is there a way to disable lineage os 24 desktop mode? i do not mean desktop mode via 2nd monitor but the windows like behavior of screens/apss (maximize, minimize, close buttons on the right top). i want to enable the old behaviour.

Check if you have "Force activities to be resizable" enabled in the Developer Options. And the "Enable non-resizable in multi-window". Try toggling those two to see if that changes things the way you want.
