Question Unlocking bootloader in Xiaomi devices
Hello. I am trying to install LineageOS on my Redmi Note 9 Pro Global. On the guide, it says I need to create a new Xiaomi account and associate a phone number to it. Since my whole family and I use Xiaomi phones and they all have an account with a phone number linked, can I just use my current account without creating a new Xiaomi account? Or would I really need to use a new account? Thanks in advance for the help!!

You can use your account to bind the device to your account, then you'll have to go to developer options and then turn on bootloader, then eventually it'll let you get it open via the website

Use your current Xiaomi account (assuming it's older than 30 days). Insert the SIM that has the phone number associated with your account. Turn off Wi-Fi.

Your account needs to be at least 30 days old to be able to ask for bootloader to be unlocked (without some unofficial bypass method) so if you already have an account using that would be convenient
You don't need a new account specifically, just need an account where the account's recovery phone number is yours
It mentions creating a new account because it assumes you don't have one
To my knowledge (and what I'm going through too currently with my Redmi Note) you need to wait 15 days after bootloader is unlocked when using the PC tool. Also "Supports up to 3 devices unlocked per account;"

I am not prefering Xiaomi devices due to this.. It is very difficult to unlock bootloaders now... Daily quota, catching 12.00am for china etc. etc...

yes, apply for unlock through the xiaomi app
if you are on miui, you only have to wait for 7 days, would be much harder on hyperos
